Here’s what ESPN isn't: Watched.

ESPN Hits All-Time 41 Year Ratings Low As WokeCenter On Steroids Takes Over

The lowest ratings in ESPN history.

ESPN from top to bottom have zero understanding that their jobs and their network rely 110% on viewership and that if you turn your network into CNN, you get to split the CNN audience. Last I looked, CNN is IN DEAD last place for cable news. Maybe the answer is to out-woke MSNBC. Yeah. That's the answer. Chase 500,000 MSNBC viewers and abandon 20+ Million sports fans.

There was a time when ESPN was unstoppable. No one would ever topple the empire. Well, like most empires it is crumbling from within. C'est la vie, dumb****s.

This holds true now more than EVER:

BTW, I put this in Roadside because it is about the number 1 sports network in the nation crashing and burning before our very eyes due to dumbshit decisions.

you think maybe the fact that there are no sports has anything to do with their ratings?

I would say having zero content to work with might be a kick in the nads. Not that I totally agree with their injecting political spin into everything let's be real here. Also, let's not forgot the internet kinda took the air out of the need for Sportscenter. Was only thing I watched on there anyway besides F1 which has been trash since ESPN got it from NBC.

I'm not an ESPN fan, and over the past 3 months I don't remember one time watching any of their programming. Now remember that there are basically no live sports, only re-broadcasts of older sport events/games. Nothing much to report on, sports news wise. IMO that is a huge reason why their ratings have tanked. People want LIVE sports. There are no live NBA games. No live MLB games. No live college sports. Nothing! Only older stuff, some if it from years ago. Again, I'm not an ESPN fan for many reasons, but when live sports kicks in again, watch their ratings climb back. Maybe not to the extent they were at their peak, but it will be decent. JMO.

That's the whole point!
Yeah, not OP's point. CoVid din't put a lot of people out of business because, their political views did (OP point). Granted you can argue the decisions make by said elected officials caused the problem, but that wasn't the argument being made.
That said I am taking note of companies already shitting the bed before all this then claiming "it was CoVid... HEEELLLLPPP".

Well, sports are nearly canceled due to Covid, so I bet viewership is at an all-time low now. I hate woke bullshit, but I also hate regular bullshit.

I have not watched the NFL in a few years in part due to rule changes that have pussified the game, part due to the abysmal refs, and in part due to politics.

I see that the college football players and coaches don’t see people want their sports free of politics.

At least drag racing has participants with a pair of balls.

not true guys. im sure plenty is happening. Lebron eats multiple meals a day, he talks to Bronny often, Bronny wants to play with dad, Bronny may or not be better than Lebron....lots and lots of news stories that people want and need to hear.

ESPN has sucked for years...when baseball only got 5 mins during the summer and all they talked about was basketball and nfl inquiries watching. I liked when you saw the days sports news from all major sports and some minor but when it became just the NBA and NFL I hated it.

I likes the days were you saw all the highlights from the day

They went political well after I quit watching

This.

Everyone, watch the video i posted.

Its on point and absolutely hilarious and infuriating at the same time.

Even the old school nostalgic music and narrating hits the nail on the head “When you heard this music, you knew SHIT WAS GOING DOWN” lol

The environment surrounding sports has retarded greatly over the years. Waking up before college classes and turning on Sportscenter was a rite of passage. Coming home from school and watching those old b&w home run contests with two or three or so players was classic.

Saying ESPN is struggling because they don't have any content due to no sports being played isn't quite true. I only watch live sports on ESPN (no highlight or bullshit arguing and other political shit) so one would think that the reason they are struggling is due to the lack of live sports.

But....I have watched a ton of sports on YouTube during the pandemic: A lot of old NFL playoff games from the 1980's and 1990's, the best games in Ohio State football history (I actually watched every game from the 1998 season except for the one we lost LOL), Lakers Finals games from the 1980's, Lakers highlights from the 1980's, Dan Marino's best games, Cleveland Browns games from the 1980's, games that featured Hakeem vs. Shaq vs. Robinson vs. Ewing. Hell, I even watched the 1992 Dream Team Olympic games.

FFS they should just get a little creative and earn their money. Why not run daily polls and ask viewers to vote on what they would like to watch tomorrow and pick one game from each sport? So on Monday you could ask viewers what NFL game they would like to watch on Tuesday: Brady's tuck rule game (Oak vs. NE), The Drive (Den vs. Cle), etc. Repeat the poll with NHL, MLB, NCAA FB, NCAA Bball, NBA. Boom! You've got over half of your programming for the day and the viewers get to interact. If a choice isn't picked on Monday, it will appear in the poll again until it is chosen.

FWIW, I have thought ESPN sucks **** for about 20 years. They literally are a cable news network. Absolute garbage. Although I still like PTI. I caught about 10 minutes of it the other day and those two are respectable people.

I like pti and weirdly enough, highly questionable. Thought they were onto something with Scott van pelt doing a late sports center And getting to interview players live right after big games. Hopefully they can bounce back once sports get going again. Blame it on Covid, blame it on bad decisions, but you also have to blame it on people relying on other sources of media as opposed to television news shows. Plain and simple. All of us can think back 20 years ago when we woke up to watch sports center. We didn’t have iPhones at that time to watch half our news while taking a shit, or riding the bus, etc

Back in the day it was about sports. Highlights and clips of games we didn't see or awesome stuff we saw but can see it again. That paired with creative and enthusiastic reporters and anchors. Everything was just about sports. Then the LeBron obsession began and all this drama crap. Their using of high tech tablets and touch screens came off gimicky and forced to me. Plus most of the good anchors left. I want the drama from the sport. Late inning heroics, walk offs, game tieing and winning shots, hits etc. That's sports. Take the bs out.
