+1 for Kenneth Miley Jr Alternator. I got one on my car no issues so far. I now own his old cobra. Honest guy won't do you wrong.

Not gonna lie Kenneth Miley jr has had one of the best customer service I’ve ever dealt with. Even though this first alternator has gave me slight issues, but things happen everything’s not perfect out there. We’ll see with the next one tho and I can get a solid review back.

Curious.. why did you make a change? Did it go out or did you get a larger amp alt?

Sorry, had no idea you had asked me a question. The Miley alternator went bad within 1 hour of driving. He told me he had a bad batch of bearings and to return it. I returned it, USPS lost it (I was stupid and didnt buy the extra insurance from USPS thinking it would be ok for a 1.5 hour distance away). So since there was no alternator for Miley to use as a warranty return, I was out several hundred dollars. Not Ken’s fault, but I wasn’t happy. So I ordered the J2fab and haven’t had a problem.

My first J2fab alternator didn't last long nor did it hold voltage at idle. The fix was to buy the more expensive denso / hairpin unit. It lasted 1229 miles.

Oh man not what i was expecting to read. I purchased the Hairpin/Denso unit, I'm installing mine this weekend. Hopefully it works out, it was not cheap!

Mine went several years ago, went back to ford dealer and they put one on. That was in the fall. Only drove it a couple more days then put in storage. In spring, it died again, I had heard that Tousley Ford had original alternators , bought it from them, dealer installed it for free and its still working after at least 5 years. Then had issue with air conditioner. Took it to dealer, but housed have learned the first time. Didn’t last long, got one from Toulsey and still cranking out cold.

My re manufactured alt from Ford is 5 years old and still working fine, only reason i decided to upgrade was due to the big fuel system, Sub-woofer, and Amp i just added. I was concerned the bigger draw would have an affect later down the road, and how it may affect my fuel pumps.
Over the weekend i installed the J2Fab 180 amp unit. So far so good, at idle multi meter was showing 14.88v.

I would be curious to see what it is under load / wot.

Same here! I know for fact that with my stocker (Alternator) the voltage when first started was always high 13.9s but would drop considerably, after it was driven for awhile.

I'm about to invest in a Aeroforce Interceptor gauge so that i can monitor those types of parameters. I'm hoping this high amp unit is doing what its suppose to do?

My nation's alternator reads 14.3-14.7 at operating temp while idling. And with the external regulator I can adjust it up or down if I want.

My last logs showed around 13.5-13.7 up to redline.

There's good and bad for every model/manufacturer. Mine J2Fab starts around 14.9 at cold idle. Drops to 14.2 when everything is warm and stays there. The voltage on my logs is a flat line. It's always above 14v. The last log I looked at was from racing my buddy. That was after having the A/C on for about 45 minutes and running up the freeway in 90+ heat. Voltage never dropped.

Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself.

If I got 14.0 or even mid 13s after a 45 minute drive, I'd be ecstatic. It's 115 heat index here today. Humid. My reman dips mid 12s. Winter time it's at least .5 higher. 13.0 WOT

Many moons ago on the forum, there was a member or 2 fabricating ac type duct tubing from the hole next to the passenger foglight, then snaking it back to the alternator for air flow. Maybe a little shield as well. They reported higher voltages consistently. Anyone else fab'd something up?

Help!!!! I have a stock lower and a 2.75 whipple SC pulley. I just got a Kenneth Miley alternator. I was told to get a 3.2 alternator pulley and now my Original belt won’t fit. Any idea what size belt I can use so I can get my car back on the road?

If your in a pinch you can grind off the stop tab on the tensioner to give you a bit more travel to slip the belt on if it's close. I wouldn't reccoment this long term though.

If your not in a pinch I would run up to the auto parts store and get a couple different lengths and try to ball park it
