I do wonder why they didn't use BMW 6sp but you knew it wasn't going to get a DCT. I think most autos now are the ZF trans . I didn't experience wind buffering when driving but I didn't spend to much time in it.

I just don't think it's a horrible package. The car handles well and is very playful , curb weight is where it should be and though it's not its intended purpose it can be pretty quick in a straight line with a simple tune netting you 500hp....probably more since the new ones give u the same HP as a Z4

Those vw’s are fast little shits with some basic bolt ons.

Upgrade turbos and you’re right... they’re 10 sec capable. Pretty crazy if you ask me.

U better believe they're fast! I got a 2016 Golf R with the DSG and it went 11.80 with just a tune. They're no joke and gets 26 mpg and is AWD. Perfect DD. Interior is like a Mercedes!

Wow!

I had a 2015 manual trans GTI that got 35 mpg routinely with ease.

I never tuned it but that bastard ran good as hell from the factory.

I’d gladly spend the money to buy another! Interior was amazing on that car.

Well dipshit the Mustang put a train length on the B/O VW so the Ford must run 8's...If VWs run 10s then show us one and if they do, good for them...Just for the record FF of the cars listed in my sig, one runs 9.9 @142, another runs 10.7s @129s, the 56 runs 12.0 @ 116, the 35 runs 12.3 @ 110 and the Vmax runs 10.7 @133 with old big ass in it...My daily driver Z71 runs 14.8...So I have 4 words for you....FOAD, get it.

Golf GTI, ironically, is the reason I got into cars. A friend of a friend that I had just met let me take out his brand new Golf R at the time. After a 5min test drive, I was hooked. It changed my life forever and made me the man I am today... lol

Some of ya'll are sleeping on these Supra's/BMWs. They aren't slow when mods are done properly to them. That Supra you ran had to have some issues or a terrible tune. I ran my buddies supra who was tuned only with my ATSV putting down 403 to the tire, and I got absolutely DRUG by it from a roll. (3-4 cars to 140)

Just for reference I pulled 2015-2017 bolt on Mustangs/SCAT challenger and chargers from a roll. I figure a 10R80 I'd lose...but figure it'd be kinda close.

Good runs, not sure why everyone is hating on you so much.

BTW the supra's look pretty damn mean with some tire on them.

the ZF 8 speed is used in 84 different cars across 21 mfgs. also, the ZF 8 speed has shift programming as low as 100ms depending on vehicle. Alpha Romeo uses that shfit logic, thats every bit as fast as most DCTs.

the 6M is only available for the shitty little 4 banger version of the Z4. the previous gen's 6M was bmw specific and the DCT 7 speed is too expensive and isnt strong enough to live behind the engine.

i would still prefer a 6M if i were to buy one. fun factor cant be replicated by an auto.
