I agree, that’s why it’s impressive to be talking about the CFTP in this way, as even at an MSRP of $92595 on a CFTP w/ destination, gas guzzler and no other options.
It’s a shame they no longer make the Viper, but the reason the CFTP even exists is because it’s based on a V6.
You may not feel a $90-100k is a good value for a CFTP GT500, but the reality is this Mustang is smacking around cars that cost much much more.
Also, I can assure you this, the GT500 is by far the more comfortable street driver of anything we’ve discussed: ACR, ZR1, GT2/3, etc.

I think the best value is the handling pack and do what TOB has done. The CFTP option is just too expensive IMO. I don't believe any of these are great track cars anyway if you are serious enough to push the limits. Way too much money in consumables.

Has the new GT500 lapped any track where it beats an ACR or ZR1? Between an ADM over 100k GT500 vs a ZR1, id spend my money on a manual zr1.

Yeah, that is what I thought too. I would want a super light chassis. The C6Zs are really good.

Outside of internal Ford timing, I do not believe so. So tricky when you have different drivers though. Still don’t think anyone really believes it could realistically beat it in a fair matchup. Fast as shit by all measures, just two different classes of “track” cars. The amount of adjustability on the ACR is almost race car level.

I just saw this video today. That was a good comparison of the 2 models by Andy. He did a good review, not biased at all considering he raced for Corvette racing and Cadillac racing.

Still don't like the bulbous weight of them, why I went ZR1 (still not that light but lighter and more balanced).

As for ride, contrary to what J mentioned I can attest that a ZR1 rides pretty nice on the street. It's not harsh at all and I drive mostly in Sport on the street. I personally can't compare to a 500 as I haven't ridden in one but the times I've tried touring mode in my car it's as nice riding on the street as a caddy or lincoln. Quite a feat on those wide/stiff sidewall tires.

OT: Were you at a DriveTeq track day at Mosport recently? I saw a white ZR1 on Forgelines there.

Hey Tony, I hope you’re enjoying that beast now that the weather has improved up north.
I’m sure your car rides great with Magneride, as it really is a game changer when combined with drive modes to go from track to cruising.
Still, while I haven’t been in a ZR1 I have been in a C7 and the porky GT500 does ride ‘better’. Subjective obviously, but overall, to me and I’d bet most people, the 500 is more comfortable on the street.
