In order to get 5, 7, or a 9.1 result in your listening room, you need discrete sound sources.
To really enjoy an Atmos sound track, one would need, @ the least, ( 7 ) sound sources.
A sound bar will never do that..

I think I spy a Music Hall MMF-5?
I used to have one of those, but recently picked up a Marantz TT-15s1.
What phono preamp is that? I run a Lounge Audio with Copla step-up transformer for the Denon DL-110 cart.

I'm more into the 2.1 nowadays as well. Funny how tastes change.

Good eye, it's a Music Hall 5.3. The Marantz you have is a sweet table.

From dac to amplification is all Emotiva gear for me. I've been very pleased with their products. The phono preamp is integrated in the system preamp: Emotiva XSP-1.

My current setup is a 2.2, the subs sit off in the corners opposite of the main speakers. It's odd, but it's what sounded best...

I have been learning a lot about home audio. My main focus has always been 2 channel stereo. Lately, I have upgraded my "home theater" system.

For about 11 years, I had a Bose Lifestyle 5.1 system. Calibration with Audysse and adjusting individual levels afterwards made it sound good/adequate. After a while, I wanted more/better, but what I had worked and due to its size, disappeared into the room. Something in the main box failed and forced me to look for a new system. ( I wasn't disappointed)

I spent a lot of time on YouTube and forums. You can find great advice and opinions on AV Forums and Audioholics, which I prefer. Audioholics has a lot of great videos on YouTube.

Building a home audio/theater system is no different than your car. There are only two guiding principles: budget and what YOU like.

I think you would be more satisfied with the results from buying separates and putting a system together as opposed to a HT in a box set up.

Installed the system last night, measured the space and placed speakers in correct area's. Today I'm upgrading the firmware and figuring out how to hook up my hue sync box so my lighting will display.

Quick 30min clip watching transformers I was blow away. From opening box to installing it to wire management this system is a no brainer. Just the performance of the dual subs is worth the price.

Can't wait to fine tune it Sunday.. Thanks for help guys!!

So... You selling your old Hsu subs? If so, what model are they?

Edit: PM sent.

I'm very surprised by a couple of things here... First, when did Nakamichi start making speakers? I admit I've been out of the audiophile scene for many years now. Second thing is when did Nakamichi start selling products at somewhat reasonable prices? I remember spending $1000 in 1981 for a Nakamichi Dragon cassette deck from the BX. They were a shit load more $$ in the civilian market too. Somewhere around $2000+! Nakamichi used to be synonymous with quality and innovation. However I see that they were bought out by a Chinese company years ago so that probably explains some of this.

I will say I had a technical question yesterday. I left a mess and received a call back from the west coast and the reps name was Shawn and spoke perfect English... Bonus
