As luck would have it, I just started looking into oil coolers for our cars. The only ones I could find are MMR and Mishimoto, both have their own problems.

Now at least I know what I'm going into, so thanks for sharing your experience WhippledGT. Hopefully MMR will see this and fix their kit.

The oil cooler kit is really pretty cool, sheds a few pounds, the stock location of filter is kind of a pain to get to, so I like the relocation. It's just those alternator brackets!!

Ok finally got the alternator installed! After about 15 tries lol

1st picture -- is how it fits from MMR, if you over tighten you will snap your alternator FYI

2nd picture - My grind job for alternator bracket

3rd- is success! Fits nice and tight like it should

4th - is the grind job that just voided my brand new PA performance alternator that was $300!!!!

5th is final install

Hope this helps. Other then the alternator issues the kit is pretty straight forward, if you understand how it works, then you can figure it out. Basic plumbing. Although lack of instructions is still lame!

Great info, glad you got it fixed.
Can you follow with how the kit performs once you get it going?

Really appreciate you posting these Pics.
Looks like the fact that this Kit is so ill fitting kit, is the reason MMR never bothered to respond in this thread with install info of their own.

This is absolutely incorrect. The reason he had to grind his alternator is because it is not a factory EARLY style alternator (which HIS has a larger casting rib near the bracket) and NOT what our kit was designed for. There is absolutely ZERO grinding required when used with the correct alternator.

Actually that was the factory 2007 alternator that I broke from your bracket in the first place, then I replaced the alternator with an aftermarket one.. so idk man, I'm not too concernd I got the car running... everything seems to be nice and cool :)

Just sucks I had the spend extra money on Alternator and I have a perfectly good one going to the scrap yard lol

Maybe I can weld it back together and sell it lol

I agree the kit works great! Idk whats up with my old alternator that broke, I can take pictures and maybe we can get to the bottom of this... MMR is saying its built for the OEM factory alt. and I believe them, I'll take my last statement back... I bought my motor used and it came with the alt. I just assumed it was stock as it was a low milage motor.... But technically I have no clue if it's OEM or aftermarket.... it would make since if that was the case! Maybe an update on the part? since you can even find a stock alternator... either way.. its all good

So this kit was updated and works without any grinding with PA Performance alternators?
