viper 1/4

I haven't posted here in awhile since selling my terminator but I took my gen v viper to the drag strip last weekend for the first time with some fresh tires. The last two times I went I was on VERY worn out oem pirelli corsas that came on the car which resulted in a bunch of low 12's and a few high 11's at 129-131mph) Anyway, I ran a few mid 11's last weekend. DA was about 2000ft and it was hot out, the stock ecu starts pulling timing once the IAT's are above 85 and I believe they were in the low 100's on that pass. I'm hoping with some cooler weather I'll run a low 11 at 130ish. The car usually traps 130ish but the best trap of the day I got last weekend was 128. Goal is to go 10's with stock tune and Drag radials. (the clutch is the issue here, not strong enough to hold 1st gear torque with DR's) Someone took vids of the runs, trying to find them and I'll post them later.

White Ta in the first pic ran a best of 9.8 at 148mph. (F1X, E85)

Definitely! It's taken some practice for sure to get it right with these cars. I've found a quickish clutch slip from 3800-4500rpm depending on track conditions or tires (my mpss rears like no more than 4k rpm slip and my acr kumho's like a 4.5k slip max with a more agressive slip) I really want to get a new clutch so I can get some DR's and just send it. (If I'm really honest I just want to send the car to Calvo/Nth LOL but that's a bit out of reach for now...) Everyone tells me the clutch is the weak link to stock 10's with DR's, it just won't hold the torque with that Long 1st gear.

yea LOL car just got finished its regular tuning, Motec traction still being dialed in. It was his first time down the 1/4 with the new turbo setup

Not easy to launch... I made two passes in my buddies stock ‘15 Viper a few years back.. first one bogged an I missed third gear.. second one ran 11.22 at 128 DA was 250... He eventually ran a 11.0X at 128.... it ran about what his previous car did, a stock C6 ZR1 which was 11.0 at 130... He has a AMG GTR now.. guess what it runs 11.0 at 129.... lol
