Hey guys,

I’d like to get some cameras for my house. Basically I want something that easy to use and I don’t want to buy a subscription service that I have to pay every month.

What do you guys recommend?

thanks

I have Eufy cameras.

They are good enough, easy to install and there is no monthly fee.

I have Arlo, I receive a notification on my phone when one of the camera's is tripped. It doesn't record long clips and only stores them for a week, unless you save it. I don't pay anything for the notifications sent.
I use them more as preventative, if I get a notice I check to see what's going on, something suspicious, I'll handle accordingly (set the alarm, call the cops, etc.) I also use it to make sure my garage is closed (teenagers seem to forget to close it sometimes). If it's not, I use the MyQ to close it.

My dad and brother have been very happy with the Wyze cameras on amazon. I just ordered a few for myself they should be here today. We were at the beach and my dad was showing me video from his house and I was impressed with the video quality. I checked and they had a 30% off coupon I applied. Cost me $49 shipped for 2 cameras and 2 32gig SD cards. No subscription fees either and they will loop record at all times on the SD card so you can review footage even when the camera wasn't tripped. It will also record I think 15 second clips when motion or sound is detected. I may go to a higher end system when I buy a house next year but for now these will work in my rental.

*Forgot to mention they run on wifi so you can get push notifications when there is an event recorded and watch from your phone at any time

I’ve had the Arlo for a couple of years now. Not bad and pretty easy to set up. My only complaint would be charging the batteries every couple of weeks. You could purchase an extra set and always have a set charged and ready to go but I’m to cheap. It doesn’t take very long to charge them. I’m always checking mine. Our neighbors kid ran into the Lightning with her bike and I had it recorded when I asked him to fix it. Had a guy walk up in front of our house a week ago and take pictures of our cars. Like mentioned it only saves a week at a time but it’s very easy to save if you want to. I get all the notifications on my phone.
