Yes Hiroshima and Nagasaki were completely different animals. Now imagine what a 50 Megaton Tsar Bomba will do?!

"The largest nuclear weapon ever detonated, the Tsar Bomba, set off by the Soviet Union in 1961, produced an insane 50-megaton blast—about 3,333 times more powerful than the Little Boy bomb that leveled an entire city."

Or Teller's proposed 10,000 Megaton continent killer weapon!

This proposed nuke would've destroyed a continent

It looks as if the initial fire was from the fireworks as you can see them going off. If it wasn't an outside source that detonated the AN then the fireworks or fire from them did. At this point, that's all I can conclude.

Did you find a video that starts BEFORE the fire started?
Thats what we would need to see.

That's definitely some sort of chemical to make an orangey plume like that. Just looks like some chemical storage facility on google earth,. The videos are insane that are coming out for it, will definitely be hundreds if not thousands dead and more injured.

Reminds me of the few times its occurred here on US soil. Think some fuel place in Nevada and some fireworks place in TX went up pretty big. There was an older video of a fireworks place that went up too, but cant find it now because google search is now just bombarded with the lebanon one.
The one in Nevada you might be referring to was the PEPCON chemical plant. PEPCON disaster - Wikipedia

I know the overall force will be less, and I was mistaken as I was took the blast radius be to blast diameter based on the picture below.

We do know the blast today knocked out windows from a radius of 10km like the picture above. I’m also assuming the blast today was restricted since it took place below ground instead of the unrestricted little boy.

What happened to a few windows 10 kilometers away is irrelevant.... you are trying to compare two very different explosions....LB annihilated an entire city, most building’s within a mile radius were flattened and the pressure shockwave was only a part of it...people and structures were literally disintegrated by the blast heat wave.... this beirut blast was impressive for a non-nuclear blast, but still doesn’t really compare to the destructive potential of even a small 1st gen nuclear weapon.

Little Boy @ Hiroshima was apparently 1000 times more powerful! That puts things into perspective. This Beirut explosion was a little fart by comparison!

Terrifying Explosion in Beirut Wasn't Nuclear, Experts Say, And Here's Why

A back-of-the-envelope calculation reshared on Twitter by Narang suggests the blast was equivalent to around 240 tons of TNT, or about 10 times as large as the US military's "mother of all bombs" or MOAB is capable of unleashing. By contrast, the "Little Boy" bomb that the US dropped on Hiroshima in 1945 was about 1,000 times as powerful.

and a wet fart at that :D

So I assume the AN was held in the warehouse in front of the silos. My question is who in their right mind would have fireworks anywhere near such a warehouse?

Ammonium Nitrate is nothing to screw with. Plenty of fertilizer explosions within modern times - West, Texas and the Tianjin explosion come to mind. Improperly stored and its a disaster waiting to happen.

It's hard to find info on LB but on FM it broke windows up to 12 miles away.

The biggest difference is the destruction within a few miles. Like, LB hit that area, if there were any buildings still standing, they would have instantly gone up in flames. Apparently the heat is so strong it will catch a building on fire 3 miles away.

For what it’s worth, a dude in my Clash of Clans clan lives in Beirut.

He claims the government was responsible for the storage. He was several miles away and said his hearing was still jacked up last night.

Most importantly...Clash of Clans is still around?

Are we really debating if this explosion is equivalent to a nuclear blast based on the distance of windows being broken? I can feel the collective groans of physicists across the world.
