I will leave only a little info from the video, as it is worth watching even if it’s 35 minutes.
Gordon Murray was the lead engineer for the McLaren F1 and he has designed and built his own car. The rest of the info is in the video. It is truly a masterpiece. Oh and one last thing, it’s a stick shift.

I love everything but the stupid turbine looking thing on the back
Isn't that for active handling or something? I read that it sucks the car to the ground like the fan cars of the 70's. I didn't watch the video. 35 mins is about 32 mins too long for me.

Too long of a video. Does he say why he put a manual in it? It's like he used modern 2020 CAD and manufacturing technology to make a car from the late 90s.

Manual trans.
Manual steering rack above 10 mph.
NA V12.
70s fan initiated down force tech.

Why?

ETA: Gordon Murray on his GMA T50: ‘This car elevates things to a higher plane’
“If there’s one company that understood what made the F1 great – and what was wrong with it, just as importantly – it’s us. The difference now is in the tool box that’s available to me. The new car will deliver what the F1 delivered, but it’s better in every area.”

So yeah. Remaking a car from the 90's. More like the "reboot" of the F1 has been made. IMO the Senna is the successor.

Simple, his goal is to build the ultimate drivers car, not the ultimate Nurburgring lap car.

I think he said that the prospective buyers all asked for these things. They were tired of "riding" in self-driving spaceships.

The dude is responsible for the single greatest road car ever created, and some of the most innovative F1 tech. I think he knows what he's doing.

His refusal to settle and attention to detail it what will separate a great car from once in a generation type car.

Also, the Senna is most definitely not the F1 successor, as it was developed as a street-track car. That was not the F1's goal. It just happened to be a great track car.

Even if that were true, (its not, you are sooo far off), and this was simply a reboot of a 90s car, it would be a reboot of what many consider to be the greatest sports car ever built, period. By the same guy who built the first one. With a mission of updating that same amazing driving experience.

Why? Because a bunch of people really want it and are willing to pay millions to have one.

If you need a McLaren successor to the F1, IMO its the Speedtail...

I try not to get too judgy with other car guys, but if anyone doesn't have some special place in their heart for the F1, they are missing something ;)

You guys with questions should really watch the whole video.

The further I got with it, the more my mind was blown.

At first, I didn't like that turbine-looking thing behind the car. But now that I know what it is and what it is capable of, I now wish my car had one.

I watched a little of the top gear video on the car on lunch today. It actually has Gordon’s old F1, which is the oldest surviving F1 in existence. The the last of the 3 experimental cars. First two are gone. He mentions things he didn’t like about the F1 amongst other things. All of which he’s addressed on the new car. Only the storage capacity is where the T50 lacks compared to the F1.
Video:

But I guess the only issue is it’s longer than the video I originally posted.
