Been looking forward to this. One real world problem though, can't be any graceful way to get into that. You're essentially climbing over the passenger seat to get to the driver's seat. Not to mention getting out when you're upside down in a ditch on fire (where mine would be no doubt).

For you guys that know your watches, this car is to Lambo and Ferrari what a Patek Philippe or F.P. Journe is to an Omega or Tag Heuer.

They're all quality, but the level of craftsmanship and thought between the two is just miles apart, and the price certainly reflects it. As I am SURE it will on this car.

What I find incredible about this car is such a level of commitment to weight savings in an age of obesity when it comes to cars. Gordon mentions that only a handful of things on the car aren’t as light as he wanted, but he couldn’t help it. No one is doing this anymore.

Pick your poison.

Not a fan. The rear is terrible looking. The rest of the car is so bland. I am not sorry if that hurts your feelings.

Also, the Senna is most definitely not the F1 successor, as it was developed as a street-track car. That was not the F1's goal. It just happened to be a great track car.
The Senna is ugly AF too, theres a reason 90% of the photos only show the front. The back is atrocious.

I'm underwhelmed by the looks, especially for the price its gonna go for. Looks wise I wish he did something revolutionary like the new Ford GT.

Other than the looks, everything else is revolutionary, engine, rpm, weight, and the best part manual. Makes me love my big motor NA car.

Even if that were true, (its not, you are sooo far off), and this was simply a reboot of a 90s car, it would be a reboot of what many consider to be the greatest sports car ever built, period. By the same guy who built the first one. With a mission of updating that same amazing driving experience.

Why? Because a bunch of people really want it and are willing to pay millions to have one.

If you need a McLaren successor to the F1, IMO its the Speedtail...

I try not to get too judgy with other car guys, but if anyone doesn't have some special place in their heart for the F1, they are missing something ;)

Gimme a break. There are plenty of iconic cars from the past decads of sports cars. Nobody's rebooting the F40, F50, 959, Carrera GT, 911 GT1, XJ220, etc. Those cars could also all be significantly improved upon using modern technology and manufacturing.

ETA: it's pretty clear the "why" is that he wanted to make improvements to the F1 design and he has the technology currently to do so. Sounds like a reboot. I'll rate this one higher than 4 chick Ghostbusters but he should have just started with a blank piece of paper.

I love everything about it. The rear is a little odd but it's grown on me...just the engine alone is an engineering marvel. What an absolutely incredible machine....I can't wait to see it performing.

I can appreciate the simplicity of design, and agree with Gordan that today's super cars are certainly getting more and more outrageous looking. IMO, the design of the T50 is actually quite revolutionary, in the sense that they are able to achieve high levels of the aero performance without all the scoops, intakes, wings, canards, active aero, etc., etc., etc.

Ha to be some kind of special feeling to be invited to buy a car that will be limited to 100 units.
I guess its also a special feeling to check his account balances now and then :)

His collection is crazy. Helps that he is the founder and CEO of Debeers jewelers...

Too long of a video. Does he say why he put a manual in it? It's like he used modern 2020 CAD and manufacturing technology to make a car from the late 90s.

Manual trans.
Manual steering rack above 10 mph.
NA V12.
70s fan initiated down force tech.

Why?

ETA: Gordon Murray on his GMA T50: ‘This car elevates things to a higher plane’

So yeah. Remaking a car from the 90's. More like the "reboot" of the F1 has been made. IMO the Senna is the successor.
Cause he wanted to build an experience. Not a numbers car. Most people that buy cars of this caliber dont even drive them at 7/10ths and will never run a nurburgring lap.
