On the bright side, if Farley fails as CEO then he will likely be out at Ford and the company won't have to put up with him any longer. If he is as bad as they make it sound. He could be an asshole, but in a lot of ways those guys can get things done, and Mulally said Ford had deep divisions throughout the company that he worked to unify. When you have someone that everyone is afraid to cross then that tends to bring people in line, but on the downside you risk creating a low morale environment which can do even more damage. All in all I think Farley is going to be better than Hackett of all people.

Good Riddance to Hackett! But I dont have much hope with Farley unless he gets his ****ing ego in check.

But.... I suppose a car guy in charge of a car company is a better step than what we just suffered through. Time will tell.

The parts side is so messed up right now and has been as long as Hackett has been in charge. I realize the pandemic hasn't helped but I have so many parts on backorder it isn't funny. We had a resource called PACO, Parts Assistance Center Online, that we could email questions for verification of things not completely clear in the catalog. That is gone and replaced with a system called COPIS which you might as well just toss the question in the shredder. I have a customer with a 05 and an 06 GT who years ago I was able to answer some questions he had about the differences on the cars. A few weeks ago I send the new system a question for him and they basically said that unless he has a new GT, they aren't able to provide any assistance to him or I, lovely.

Seriously, what the hell? That's THE Halo car of all Halo cars for Ford.... and FoMoCo couldn't be bothered to lift a single finger to help an owner of 2 of them?

Blew me away. It was a simple request too. If you look at the passenger side of the center console, there is a little pocket to hold maps or the owner's manual. His broke off and the illustration in the catalog isn't clear. I asked if they could verify it came with the $2,900+ trim piece that it looked like it did, maybe even open a box in a warehouse to verify, which they have done in the past for me. They couldn't be bothered. Fortunately I just told the customer that due to COVID they were really restricted on personnel so it may take a while and he understood. He is going to try using his 3D printer to see how close he can make one.

To be honest, its people like your customer that will turn into the next Scott Drake and keep the 05-06 GT's going. Its a VERY niche market for sure, but if no one is there to meet demand, 3d printing a rough batch of parts could lead to a business opportunity.

Believe me, they can’t help with a new GT either. I just had to have the seats replaced on a car and it took three attempts before a set arrived that didn’t have mismatched seat backs/bottoms. Not my first rodeo with that type of problem.

Anything old GT is pretty easy. There’s a handful of parts that are sort of hard to get but not much. I wouldn’t expect any help because the car is 15 years old and practically nobody is left that was around when it was in production. If he owns a GT and has a question about any of it, the place for answers is fordgtforum.com.
