Hey guys,
Looking for some guidance here. About to buy a used vmp 2.3 w the gt500 tb and still continue to use my jlt intake. The jlt doesn't go into the fender, it just goes straight front and has the shrowd piece. I noticed it has a bent rubber elbow that reduces from the stock tb to the jlt tube. I highly doubt that will work w the gt500 tb as it looks huge compared to stock. I found this 45* silicone reducer and I was curious what y'alls thoughts were on using that to adapt my current jlt intake to the gt500 tb.

I looked up the part number of the current reducer and it's a 5" to 4.5". The gt500 TB looks like 5" based on the vmp website so now I'm thinking that reducer will work.

You can buy the silicone reducer from silicone intakes for a fraction of the vmp price. That jlt you have is a gen 1 intake and they really leave a lot to be desired. You can probably find a gen 2 for much cheaper and the intake won't be rubbing paint off the valve/coil cover.

I just ordered a new intake Tube to replace my Gen 1 tube directly from JLT. You don’t have to by the whole kit, it was like $149 and includes new couplers as well. The kit isn’t listed on the website but they will hook you up if you reach out.

Post a photo of your finished setup when it's done, to give folks a better idea of what you did when they view this thread in the future.

Lethal use to sell the upgrade kit and it was cheaper than vmp. The problem is the couplers he'll get will be for a stock throttlebody.

The stock TB seems to measure across at around 5 inches just like the gt500 TB. So why wouldn't the stock coupler work? Does anyone know for sure on this?

How did this work out for you? Did you go with the gen 2 JLT tube or retain your gen 1?
