Does anyone know if any of the big three are offering major incentives on used late-model (2017 and newer) cars?

Would be sick if they had low interest on some used stock. I wish I could afford a trackhawk. LOL

The used car market is insane right now, supply is low and prices are very strong.

@Serpent i've been eyeing the trackhawk market for months and vehicles that i was planning high 60s for are now mid 70s...these 2018 models with low miles are being snatched up daily, don't last long at all.

needless to say, i'm gonna wait lol.

I know it's ridiculous. I KBB's my truck last night and it was $7k higher than it was 2 months ago. I'm ready to trade it on something.

Volkswagen turns to Chattanooga for EV evolution
Aug. 13, 2020 3:30 PM ET|About: Volkswagen AG ADR (VWAGY)|By: Clark Schultz, SA News Editor

Volkswagen (OTCPK:VWAGY) plans to expand its factory in Chattanooga to make electric vehicles, battery cells and battery packs.

The company is also building a laboratory in Chattanooga to develop and test cells and battery packs for the new models being assembled in the U.S.

"A lot of auto companies will farm out the development and testing of batteries to another company, and some will actually do the work of developing and testing in-house. We are doing the latter," says Volkswagen exec Wolfgang Maluche.

The first electric model that Volkswagen plans to build in Chattanooga is the electric ID.4 crossover.

Toyota-Mazda JV to invest additional $830M in Alabama auto plant
Aug. 13, 2020 5:30 PM ET|About: Toyota Motor Corporation (TM)|By: Carl Surran, SA News Editor

Toyota (NYSE:TM) and Mazda (OTCPK:MZDAY) say their joint venture will invest $2.3B in a new factory in Alabama, $830M more than announced in their original plan from 2018.

The additional investment will "incorporate new cutting-edge manufacturing technologies to its production lines and provide enhanced training to its workforce of up to 4,000 employees," says Alabama's Gov. Ivey.

The new facility will have the capacity to produce as many as 150K units of a future Mazda crossover vehicle and as many as 150K units of a yet-to-be-announced Toyota SUV each year.

Production is expected to start next year, and the JV says the plant's roofing, siding, floor slabs, ductwork, fire protection and electrical work is 75%-100% complete.

How long do you guys think the used market value will stay high? I'll eventually get a new truck, but still a year away give or take.

When they stop selling. Kinda depends when the next market dip will be. I would guess next year when things finally catch up to the fall out

Girlfriend is gonna be picking up an Explorer ST or Lincoln Aviator in the next few weeks. Hoping to find a good finance deal. The Aviator even in the base model is incredible.

Finally got mine. I didn't know F150's were made outside of Detroit. Makes sense since they build so many. Anyways, thanks to the workers in Kansas City, you did a great job.

I need the used market to correct in the next couple months. I can’t believe the advertised pricing on used trucks. My wife doesn’t understand why I wince at the thought of buying a used truck right now. I don’t want to feel like I got ripped off.

I bet that thing has some balls. Single cab

I haven't really got on it yet, but I know it's quick.

I just learned about the different driving modes. Sport really wakes it up. I'm definitely out of my element with this truck.

European carmakers moving to online sales model amid pandemic
Aug. 16, 2020 7:36 PM ET|About: Volkswagen AG ADR (VWAGY)|By: Douglas W. House, SA News Editor

Pursuing an opportunity created by dealer showroom shutdowns and surging consumer comfort with online big-ticket purchases, several European carmakers are rolling out internet-based sales channels.

Peugeot parent PSA expects to deliver more than 100K vehicles direct to buyers' homes.

Volkswagen (OTCPK:VWAGY) will do the same for its flagship ID.3 electric car starting in September. It expects to release 75 battery-powered models in the next 10 years, all expected to be available online as well as through traditional dealers. It plans to sell the ID.3 at a standardized price in Germany regardless of where or how the car was bought. Traditionally, dealers set their own prices.

Mercedes-Benz maker Daimler (OTCPK:DDAIF) already sells cars directly in South Africa and Sweden and plans to roll out the same in Austria next year.
