changed out the leaking pinion seal on my coupe. only had 21k on it since it was rebuilt, too. oh well, good opportunity to change the gear oil. i always have my gears built with a solid pinion spacer (no crush sleeve), so it makes this job much easier.

i needed to do the exact same thing to my vert a couple years ago - here is the post i made in this thread back then (with pics).

I did my very first fuel filter change! That was a bigger pain in the dick than I expected given the limited room to work with and some stubborn fuel lines, but I got it done.

So did you buy the generic off brand on eBay? I'm tempted to buy a set from Autonation.

I believe I read he bought them from Amazon because of shipping Autonation was more.

Scoped out another storage place today which should be a lot cheaper which means I'm keeping the car! Garage storage dilemma solved.

And put a new set of rubber on all 4 corners. Went with the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s.

The first ones I bought were generic china-repros that fit terribly and are really thin, I only did because at the time I thought the OEM liners were discontinued. They are not. Repros are about $20/side, OEMs are $80/side and wellllll worth it. I bought OEMs from Amazon and eBay, cheapest shipping charges I could find.

Awesome thanks. I'll have to check Amazon before I buy from Autonation. I just want to make sure I'm actually getting motorcraft ones.

Changed out the right rear wheel bearing because the axle nut loosened up and wiped out the bearing. Of course the bearing falls to pieces after pressing out the hub leaving the outer race in the knuckle with no surface left to press it out or even beat it out with a punch and hammer. Youtube to the rescue....lol! Found a helpful video showing how to use some of the old ball bearings and inner race to make a surface to press out the outer race. Worked like a charm! :) Replaced the SKF ball bearing with Ford (Timken) tapered roller bearing, hopefully it lasts!

Took the cars out with a few friends and learned how to take rolling photos. We were all pretty happy with some of the shots for first timers! Here’s one of my car I liked that a friend got.
THAT is a great shot of your Cobra. Which looks awesome by the way!

Just went through this myself, but I got lucky and the old race came out. Took the advice of the boys at FTBR and held on to the old race and ground some material off the outside diameter. Now I'm prepped when the driver's side lets go.
