Have to admit I wasn't surprised to see the white with blue stripes. When do I get my ride?

Is the Wimbledon white a little darker than the Oxford white? Its hard for me to tell with my old eyes, lol.

Looks like a tint of beige in it?

Correct. It’s not a pure white. Has a little bit of beige in it as you noticed. Really depends on how the light hits it.

Looks like another 18 Heritage Edition Rs were issued this week bringing total to 206. Additionally another 42 350 base models with heritage edition option for a total of 399. So if someone is after one and a dealer tries to sell you on an ADM because it’s so rare, that is not the case. Just be patient as I am sure they will be able to be had for MSRP or less in due time.

When ever. Mine should be going away for a couple of weeks here soon though. Going to go get the vinyl stripes pulled and get them painted on.

It'll probably be that long before I have the free time. We just moved to Santee so trying to get settled along with everything else going on.

In process of getting the stripes painted. No more vinyl.

But are you sure the paint is better than vinyl?

Keep me posted when it comes back. If mine isn't down maybe we can hit up one of the meets on a weekend when you're in town.

Looks great - were you able to get legit Guardsman Blue? And if you're willing to share - cost?

Thanks. Yes it is guardsman blue which I believe was also known as pacific blue if it was sprayed on a Mercury back in the day. I honestly believe it looks closer to the original guardsman blue than the vinyl did. Cost was $4500 which is a little less than what Ford would have charged for the option as they did for those golden ticket GT500s at Penske.
Definitely not cheap and it has taken awhile to get done as the painter is in high demand, but the quality is top notch. Most of the price is in the labor between the disassembly prep and the sanding and polishing of the surface. I’m sure there may have been places to do it cheaper, but I was more concerned that it got done well more than anything. I went with the most reputable painter I knew of. I wanted to do the side stripes as well, but that just wasn’t cost effective as it would have pretty much been an entire repaint of the car and a lot more disassembly. Front quarters removed, doors removed, rocker panels. So I’m just going to re-tape the side stripes so that they don’t break up like the factory side stripes. Looking forward to getting the car back.

Thanks - good info and less than the $10K Ford charges for painted stripes (when offered).
