VCT plays a big role imo. Its what makes this small block ford so deadly plus higher compression engines help to.

so I know you know your shit with these mod motors. Not sure why I never asked you. why are the coyote based motors trapping so high with a twin screw only? can it really be possible with lets say, building a boss 5.0 modular block? so far I have seen broke7's video and crane train. There cobras are trapping I believe 154-156mph blower only. Both built motors but, nothing radical. simple builds.

Yea that's true my buddy has his locked out since he went aftermarket cams. Brett LaSala locked his out to but he's running some cams speced out by FF. I guess to make 1800 hp u will need to lock em out lol.

I made over 1100 whp at 20 lbs of boost just getting started at the dyno. Was only my second pull and plan on turning it up soon but we will be keeping the VCT for now. Had fueling issues needed a new pump one was failing.

Alot of the high HP guys don't run VCT.. They lock out the cams and run custom cam profiles

Yep.. There isn't much difference between the coyote and modular cars when you get to the stupid high HP level.. Ofcoarse they have added displacement..

True. My buddy wants to sell his Coyote. He went 8.1 175 mph and wants a new edge to build now says its much lighter and hooks better.

He's nutz and can do all his own shit but yea up at those power levels no VCT and yea their really close in power. Its just weight at that level unless ur class racing.

This thread makes me want to sell the cobra instead haha. The coyote just seems so much better. Id like to do a coyote swap but again, it all comes back to this emissions crap.

I thought that I've read someone that high boost coyotes with VCT have issues with the cams reverting back to 0. I'm still running VCT on my car because I love the fact that it runs and drives like a stock car.

Yes it does, which is why I said most lock them out and run custom cams

My friend Scott Hasty still runs VCT at 7.90s with a CJ 3.0 Whipple.
I’m going to try and keep them on my turbo build.

The MS3PnP is freaking fantastic. All the options you get out of hand quickly and the swap is 45mins if you are slow and can easily swap back if need be.

That was the allure of the MS PnP. Also no emissions but wouldn't be hard to stick a tuned stock ECU in to pass inspection since it uses the factory connector and wiring. Its does however has a much faster processor and I believe can run better coils so you can turn some more RPM.

Honestly still thinking of doing it. Knock sensing, spark based traction control, spark based rev limitter, no lift shift etc. Bunch of cool features.
