No joke about Amish furniture. Great stuff. Visited several stores when we were back in Pennsylvania a few years back. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

No local guys around you build and sell furniture? I make and sell all kinds of stuff. Also I second the amish I visit their saw mill for lumber all the time

A ton of stores here. Tommy Bahama is good stuff, but pricey.

I never knew they sold their own line of furniture. Do you know if it's imported or made in the U.S.? Like you said they aren't cheap. This sofa is $4,472!

Pretty sure. We have a Bacons store here that sells it too I believe.
Not sure Bob. We have some family room and dining room table/chairs that are over 15 years old I think that's held up great. No, not cheap at all.

OP is looking for a sofa and he's supposed to build it himself. A sofa isn't like a table or bed. You actually have to be comfortable on it. I doubt anyone here has enough understanding of ergonomics to design anything you'd want to spend 2 hours sitting on for tv.
I don't think the Amish build mid century modern furniture.
Sofas + Sectionals
Still probably going to be Chinese, but at least it looks good. If you want something handmade, you are going to have to buy vintage and have it re upholstered. Mid century pieces in bad shape are way overpriced. Try to find something that someone has already refinished. I'm in a few mid century facebook groups and several people there restore and sell.

Better bring your $$$$$$$$. Crazy expensive stuff, but good.
Estate sales in the south. Lots of people have formal/guests rooms with high quality furniture that's never been used. I have a good upholstery guy that can make nearly anything look great as long as you start with good bones.
