So my 2015 Powerstroke popped the cold side intercooler pipe. Turns out, they're on a huge back order for almost a month. I thought it would be no big deal, just order an aftermarket one. But those seem to be on back order too.

Any clue where to find one? Or am I best off just trying to hack my own together?

We have a truck in the shop for the same issue. Suppliers are saying mid to late October before we see it.

Doesn't say "out of stock," might be worth a call to make sure they have them. I probably should get one for my truck too since I'm sure it will blow out at the most inopportune time.

Welcome to Ford parts.

there are a lot of material supply issues across a host of industries due to the corona bullshit. While they're may be some usual Ford BS making it worse they aren't alone right now. Hell I saw miller lite isnt even going to make some canned products because they cant get enough right now.

I was at my local Honda Powersports dealer today and he said he has Honda parts on back order all the way up until January and some parts with no ETA.

Truth
I work in the construction industry and a few jobs are waiting on material that was ordered in May on a 4 week lead time and now it’s Sept with no ETA...

I get that but today at work I ordered a new transmission, ac compressor, dvd player, seat frame, fuel injectors and a starter. All for different honda vehicles and all will be here tomorrow from Honda.

I dealt with the difficulty of getting ford parts every day when I worked for them. Back ordered parts takes months, honda parts rarely are backorder and when they are we are talking a week or 2.

I want to upgrade, but even those are out of stock, too. I ended up putting on some hose clamps for now, and will continue my aftermarket search.

There have been oil sites that have gone down that have resulted in oil spills, and mechanics are literally piecing together shit on federal oil sites because they can’t get some parts

Not just a ford issue. Its happening everywhere. We have some customers been waiting 3 months for a/c compressors. Not ideal during the summer.

I have 15 on order and they have been on order since June/July with no ETA. I have been recommending the Mishimoto one to customers. We also have recalls parts on backorder for the door latch freezing concern. We have had a 6.7 down in shop where the HPFP let go and sent metal everywhere. The "oops I f'd up kit" that we usually use for when someone puts DEF in the fuel went on backorder too which is lovely.

A/C compressors we buy all aftermarket because all the aftermarket ones are often from the factory suppliers. Check Ranshu or other local radiator and A/C suppliers unless you have to go through OEM. Ranshu is in Nevada but I order and they ship it and I see it the next day. We do more A/C work than probably anyone around local as that is where we started and I don't think I have ever waited longer than a day to get the compressor I needed.
