I am guessing he gave his email out in a thread he made. Check post #40. I found the scammer.
That’s exactly what happens. These guys aren’t members, but lurk. These Nigeria and Africa ****s are all over this place. I can’t tell you how many I ban daily. They’ve found a way to join bypassing the approval process.

OP is exactly what the scammer was looking for.
Whatcha buy?

Seems silly to send money via PayPal Friends and Family, that's exactly what a scammer would ask for.

OK Bozos, stop clowning around.

I've asked this before but never really got an answer. Why not have the option to hide text to unregistered members?

How it would would be you use the tag [hide] [email protected] [/hide] and it would be visible to registered members but for non-members the text would say: "Only visible to other members." Other forums have this that use the same software....

Charge back if used credit card. My card company has always sided with me
That's fine, but if you choose to use PayPal services that don't allow a dispute (like Gift Payments and Friends & Family), well, it just isn't smart unless you really are giving directly to a family member or close friend. It's just common sense. Unfortunately, people do it to save the PayPal fee. If you choose to continue to use Friends & Family when doing a business transaction with a person you really don't know, well, that's your choice. That's why you're getting no sympathy in this thread. You lost over a $100 in one transaction. That one transaction has probably wiped out the "savings" in not paying a transaction fee.

Googled this.
Can you get scammed on PayPal friends and family?
If you send somebody money Friends and Family, and you're expecting to get something delivered, and that “thing” does not get delivered; there's nothing you can do about it! You cannot file a dispute. The policies state this clear. That's not what this type of payment is intended to be used for.

OK Bozos, stop clowning around.

Here he is wearing a gold chain that he bought from the money you sent him!

Maybe if you send him some more money, he can fix his teeth?

How did you not realize this was a scam? He had more red flags than a Chinese communist parade.

I sent a message to him on FB with a link to this thread. I hope he joins in
I bet that sumbitch has ate a June bug or two in his day...

Have a link to an example? We plan on doing a major overhaul to the market when we do our next round of upgrades.

What was op getting for his $100?

How safe is zelle? Serious question, I don’t use PayPal.

i believe you have 24 hours to cancel a transaction. after that you're pretty much SOL. even then, i would take that 24 hours with a grain of salt. the good thing about Zelle is its linked directly to a bank account (on both sides) so a full time scammer who is at risk of going to jail is less likely to use it. it also has limits to how much you can send. i think $1k or $1500 per day. no fees though.

This type of thread is why I love this site. Everyone roasts the OP (but not too bad), then someone actually finds and posts photos of the obvious Nigerian prince, then offer to help the OP with suggestions on how to get his money back. Good group of guys here.
