So i ordered 4 orings from ford only to find out that this has 4 per tube. Anyone know if this takes a different oring? Or does it take the oem orings?

You do not have the oem intercooler coolant adapter on your car do you? Need to contact whoever manufactures it and see what they say.

I think he meant the whole set up so we can see what you have.

This, if the front plate/ pass through manifold is the same (check bore) very good chance just stock w aftermarket double ring tubes. Haven't seen it but cool. In that case just search on here and get a 50 pack from McMasterCarr.

Up till J2 and Cobra Eng started doing stuff I think all Terminator inners used stock water manifolds. Cool thread hoping to see some new stuff.

Ford used some high grade rubber at that connection. Most likely Viton. It is a small area responsible that separates coolant from combustion. Heat sink can be detrimental to inferior products in short order.

If the nipples leak, the coolant will be forced into the combustion via blower pressure. The inner cooler is suspended inside the lower intake attached to the bottom of the blower.
There is no combustion at all going on in the lower intake.

I read it as combustion getting to the rings too, just worded weird. The ones I'm thinking of are also Viton but I believe a little stiffer to seal better. I'll have to find the part number. It's either on here or ModFords or just find the bag I have in the garage. Either way cheaper than Ford and as good if not better.

I have a set of high temp silicone which are more maleable than viton. In my opinion I think a softer material is a better option than viton and will seal better and conform better as the intercooler is not completely stable during operation and heat cycling, and between installs there can be a lot of variation between part alignment. Both viton and silicone can MORE than handle the heat they are exposed to, and both are probably fine. Just really splitting hairs at this point.
