Good luck, hope you enjoy it! The money you would have paid to do the same mods may actually end up being less expensive for you. And that is an amazing friend to gift you the extra to buy it. But as a failsafe I would get it in a contract and signed. That way down the road there isn’t any missed communication(or remembered incorrectly) I had 2 great friends do this without any thing in writing and it destroyed their friendship. Get it in writing, enjoy the car and take your buddy for lots of rides! As for the insurance brought up on another comment, you can value insure the car. Mine was at $32k I believe through something like Haggerty

Well I talked to my friend about the car as far as when it’s good with me him for the pick up date . He’s really busy this time of year since he does the pumpkin thing as a side business. He advised me the car was having issues running correctly or lean and thinks it may be something with either the fuel pumps or delivery system . Basically it’s unknown , I advised him without looking at the car it could be alternator. Not supplying enough voltage to the pumps . However he advised towing the car . I like the guy had a few lunches with him and even worked on the car for him in the past . I have a gut feeling about something being bad news so I’m going to pass. He mentioned me towing it home and me figuring it out . While I know I can fix it . I don’t know anyone that spends 35k on a car and can’t drive it home .
Luckily there is a back up car that is very tastefully built. It’s a Oxford white coupe .
2.6 kB makes 700 rwhp on 100 octane. 6 piston calipers, full mm k member , suspension bushings and coil overs , upgrade trans , racing seats ect.
The asking price of this car is 27k which I feel is pretty fair . Especially with the modifications that are done to my liking. Was told from the owner 0 issues turn key car . So I’m going to look at it this Saturday.
Willing to take any advice

The white cobra has just under 100k miles . Bit higher than I wanted but in all the pics it looks really clean and tastefully modded.

$27k for 100k mile cobra?

You are just itching to overpay for one, huh?

+1. I wish the OP was in the market when I was selling one of my cars. If this is $27K car then I could have sold you mine for $40K easily :)

OP- there are a lot of cars out there, including many on this forum. I'd take your time and find one that is a good value. But it's a free country... at least for another month...

I see cheap replica wheels. The "upgraded" racing seats were installed presumably because the OEM seats were worn out. Are they recaros? The 2.6KB is a somewhat odd blower that has been bested many times since it's introduction by Whipple and VMP. Without knowing more, this is definitely not a $27K car...

I’m not itching. I know any cobra in decent condition should be 18 to 20 k
Even if I did that , I figure I would pay more to mod the car even doing it myself. The mystichrome I was paying more to get the same paint as I had on my car . So more of a old memories type thing . Plus the guy told me there wasn’t anything left to do on the car . He’s a friend but I feel I was mislead horrible . Especially him mentioning the fuel issue and I had to tow the car home , he didn’t recommend driving it .

I appreciate everyone’s input . I would rather ask others some opinions than making a bad decision on car choice.

Have you looked in the SVTP classifieds?
Are you specifically looking for one in your immediate area?
