That was me who inquired about the car on behalf of a friend. This was prior to the current condition, however. I still steered him away from it as there were too many unknowns.

The biggest red flag in my eyes was intake/TB, cat-less mid-pipe, and maybe a smaller pulley (looks mighty small to me anyway) without any sort of tuner/programmer to go with the car. I figured the previous owner did the mods and maybe had a canned OTS tune on it, but reflashed it to stock in order to unmarry the tuner. After all, what's the point in doing those mods without a tune to take advantage of them.

From what I was told, the owner of the dealership is actually the one who popped the motor. Sounded like he took it out for a joyride and this was the result.

I hope it wasnt. But if it was, then the dealer owner is an idiot. He could claim the whole repair as a business related expense.

I know the salesman told my buddy something like this: "Just think. If you had bought the car and the warranty, we'd be putting a new engine in it for you." Inconsequential at this point, but just struck me at how seemingly nonchalant about it he was/they are. "Smoked motor, but come on down anyway because you can drop a new one in for a measly $10k. That's why we've been so kind as to knock the price down."

5.2L ALUMINATOR 5.2 XS CRATE ENGINE

5.0L GEN 3 ALUMINATOR SC CRATE ENGINE
Both over 10k and not installed. Plus the coyote needs a super charger what’s that another 6k+.
Car is worth 10k maybe.

Putting a motor together and installing it in the car will be every bit of $15k, probably closer to 20. Car is about $20,000 overpriced as it sits, IMO

I knew someone had asked in the forum about it. lol And everyone was critiquing the missing rocker stripes. lol.

But at the time it was running and stuff when your friend was eyeballing it right?

Yeah. He never got to the point of test driving it, though, so it's possible it was already on its way out before the dealer cooked it. Could be why it was traded in.
