if it isn't a manual I don't care if it's got 2,000 hp, it's a piece of poo for all I care.

That's why I own a 6 spd murci and not something newer like an SVJ aventador ... down with flappy paddels.

If you just enjoy having a stick in your hand, like I said, I understand.

I prefer to go fast.

Both are great cars and so is the Terminator -still.

Of course the 2020 will be superior in just about all aspects and should be for the price tag. Its a badass ride for sure.

I'd love to own an Twister Orange maybe one day but not going to put myself in a bind Financially or pay ADM.

Until then will continue to love my old bucket of bolts 2013 which to me is still a fast car and awesome to drive.

I WISH I was a 2020 GT500 owner!
With all due respect, there's probably a support group for that, but I'm sure it's not the 2013-14 Shelby GT500 forum. :p

Like several others, I could have bought a new GT500, but have ZERO interest in one. I strongly prefer both my old buckets of bolts and their antiquated manual transmissions. The same would be true if I owned a Terminator. Don't think I'll ever willingly embrace a shift knob.

While I love the rear end on the S550 platform, I am still NOT a fan of the front end. Looks more "import" to me. Uh-oh! I may have started an armed conflict. My apologies!

Ford lost me in 2015, MY's since based on that platform did nothing to win me back.
I'm sure the 2020 is a world beater, it just doesn't do it for me.
.
As one 2020 owner posted on this site:
" The paddles are kind of silly really. Put in in Track Mode or Sport Mode, whatever, and go. No need to deviate from the factory programming in pretty much every situation as Ford/Tremec nailed it. "

ruh oh, it seems the 2020 owners are converging on me :O

Nah. I actually sold mine, I realized I really don't have time to drive it.

I get it. I loved my 2013 and 2014 GT500. I loved my 2008 Viper ACR. All were 6 speeds.

When Ford announced just the paddles as an option I was let down, thinking that the speed difference wouldn't be large enough to outweigh not rowing the gears.

Then I bought my Competition Coupe with a sequential.

It's insane how much faster it shifts than my ACR on the track. Not even in the same ballpark.

Then, I drove a GT500. Not even at speed. You literally can't beat it.

If you're wanting a vehicle to drive on the street for weekends and such, I totally understand going the 13/14 route. If you're wanting a really fast daily driver that you can drive to the track and hurt feelings with, you need to go with a 2020 GT500.

But yes, I do miss the glass roof option. Had it in my 2014 and it was my favorite part of the car.

My sentiments exactly! I wouldn't want to row gears in daily, bumper-to-bumper traffic. Been there when my daily drivers were an '86 GT and a few years later, a '89 GT. The 2013 is purely for fun and won't be out in any kind of bad weather, nor will I drive it to work.

I believe there is a 2020 GT500 forum where the nut swingers can go suck off the latest and "greatest."

This forum I believe is for the Trinity 13/14 Shelby GT500.

ANYWHOOO...

Reasons I did not go for the 2020...

1. Its a ****ing whale. damn thing weighs somewhere between 4080 and 4250 lbs depending on what source you site.

2. Flappy Paddles and a Knob... no thanks. It works in my Wife's 2020 Explorer ST... not in my Shelby.

3. MASSIVELY OVER PRICED. the ADMs and RIDICULOUS market for the 2020, which is not a SVT OR a True Shelby.. is ABSURD.

4. Carroll Shelby didnt have ANY input on this vehicle... The obvious reason for that being hes Dead... His name on the back pays homage, but doesnt add to his legacy in my opinion.

5. It looks like it was designed by Brian O'Conner.. WTF is with the WING?? **** dude.... FnF called they want their body kit back.

6. Its not a 200+MPH car.

So in conclusion, yes. The 13/14 "Trinity" Shelby GT500 is a far superior car.... But that's just MY OPINION.

I love my 2014 but the 2020 is heads and shoulders a better car in every way, there is no denying that. Once the ADM phase has passed I will be looking into getting one.

You will love it. However, i am quite happy with what I have. This old dinosaur loves shifting gears. Now, when I hit 70 (only 10 years from now), I may not be able to push in the clutch pedal so easily, so I may have to snatch up a S550 GT500. By then, there won't be a gasoline-powered Shelby Mustang available, I suppose.
