Hi Guys, my name is Christoph and i recently bought a torch red 03 Cobra.

So as i am new to Fords and i possibly am the only person in my country to own such a car, i hope you guys can help me out with your experience.

First of all i want to bring the car back in perfect condition and replace all parts that are just not right any more. When i replace something i will go to replace them with tuning parts.

That being said, my lower blower pulley has play, so i ordered 2pound pulley because a 2.8 upper pulley is on the car right now.
During winter i am going to home port my eaton, a off road x pipe will be installed, cat back is on the car right also.

So here comes the first question, i wanna change the fuel pumps i can get aeromotive 340 over here, which in and outlet setup should they have and will they fit plug and play??

second question, do i need bigger injectors and a bigger maf with this setup??

Please keep in mind we have 98 and 100 octane gas here in austria.
What Numbers can i hope for??

If there are any tipps for me please feel free to comment, unfortunately no one here seems to know anything, so every input is worthy for me

thx alot

Good info on the octane rating, @68gtscode.

@shogun1986, welcome to SVTPerformance and congratulations on buying a 2003 Torch Red Cobra. First, you should browse through my Terminator FAQs. You'll find a lot of helpful info there that is specific to the 2003-2004 Cobra.

I highly recommend you find a good tuner (you'll need a new tune, of course, for the changes you're planning). Work with the tuner as far as what fuel mods you will need. There is a good chance you will need to install bigger injectors as well as a bigger MAF. You might get by with a KB Boost-A-Pump. Your tuner will help you determine what you need.

If you didn't already order one, you'll want to get a new belt for the 2lb lower you ordered. The site listed above^^^ has a belt length chart that will get you where you need to be.

Have you already got a larger alternator pulley to offset the over-spin it will see with the 2lb lower? Most use the 3.2" alt pulley.

Go HERE and select the link under Special Notes. It's the old belt chart and is helpful more with factory Eaton belt sizes.

Yes I ordered a belt that should match according to the belt chart on I think it was lethal performance site.

Alternator pulley is stock.

I would walk the route with 2 new pumps, does anyone know if aeromotive stealth 340 will fit the oem hat? Wich inlet/outlet setup should they have?
I also considered 60 or 80 injectors, what you guys thinking about Siemens?

Thx for all your replys.

Just my opinion....

Unless you're planning on running E85 get the 60lb injectors. They'll have plenty of room for what you're doing now.

As for fuel pumps look for the Ford GT pumps. They're an upgrade from stock and don't need a lot of work to fit into the stock hat. I ran Aeromotive 320's for a bit in a stock hat and it wasn't fun getting them in there. I think the 340's are about the same size.

Problem is stock parts are hard to get here and for most parts it's cheaper to get aftermarket parts which are available here in Europe.
Could you explain what you had to do to get them fit in?
Would deatschwerks be a good option?
Eventually I could get them here to.

How should the in and outlet be?

I don't remember everything. I do remember the brackets that wrap around the pumps barely made it. And the wiring needs to be modified. You have to change the plugs. I don't remember what I did about the fuel line though.

I couldn't tell you anything about how the inlet/outlets are. I bought the pumps from Amazon and whatever I got worked. Although they didn't like being run returnless. I just remembered that tidbit. One of them died on me.

I've heard many good things about Deatschwerks. Especially in the S197 areas.

Maybe I missed something but with that setup (ported factory blower, 7 lb upper, 2lb lower) why would you need to replace the fuel pumps? I run a ported blower, 5lb upper, and 4 lb lower without any fuel issues and have for years. And my son and I ported and polished my blower with my mill in the basement, we copied Stiegemeire's older stage 4 design.
