Thats a lot of weight for putting down less power. The fact that it weighs that much is already a big nope from me. Can also get a coyote motor for much cheaper than a godzilla motor.

Not true. gen 3 coyote is 9500 plus New.

How exactly do they sound bad?

I have one of the loudest possible set ups. Not saying randos are a good judge but people compliment it out of no where.

Loudness has nothing to do with quality of sound. Sure. Coyotes can be super loud, but that doesn’t mean it sounds good. Does it sound bad?? Nah, I mean I cant think of many V8’s that truly sound bad with a good exhaust on them. But mustangs have notoriously had their own unique sound for decades, everyone would always know a mustang is approaching way before its visible. Wouldn’t matter if it was the original pushrod 5.0 or a Trinity. That was gone with the coyote.

The average person will compliment any loud V8. Explaining “how” one sound is better than the other is beyond me, plus it’s pretty subjective.

Subjective is right but I also agree it's not distinct for a mustang. Shit, I don't even know what mine really sounds like other than being the loudest. I'm always driving away from it lol.

"Purchasing a new crate 7.3L Godzilla V-8 engine direct from Ford Performance will set you back $8,150 (or $8,300 depending on which Ford Performance page you land on), not including tax. However, shipping is free, so that's a huge bonus. And if you sign up for the email list, they'll give 10 percent off, which is substantial in this case.

By comparison, a Mustang 5.0L costs $9,500, and the 5.2L XS V-8 will set you back $22,599. Even a carbureted 302 runs north of $10,000. By all accounts, the 7.3L V-8 is one heck of a bargain."

My math says $9500 >> $8150. Dunno about you...

I think this will be one of the first 7.3's attached to manual trans?
Curious how hard the tuning will be...because no one will have a base map for a MT.

But I was very glad to see Ford included a recess in the crank for pilot bearing!

Idk...by mustang standards the coyote does sound pretty bad imo.

Definitely agree...Without mufflers it sounds awful. With tasteful exhaust it sounds fine. Nowhere near as nice as a 4.6 or 5.4, but sounds fine.

Going full retard is saying you'll only own a non-hellcat Mopar because of how "total ass" the coyote sounds. LMAO! That is idiotic.

It's retarded if you can't admit exhaust tone is a huge part of owning an enthusiast car.

It's also retard to buy something simply because of it's numbers on a piece of paper or potential and not for its actual real world experience and use.

Just Say'n

I agreed it's not a great sounding motor.

What does that even mean? Numbers and potential are EXACTLY why hot rod enthusiasts buy hot rods. In fact, those are the reasons you bought Satan's Cobra arent they? Get off the Russian crack, holmes.

Should’ve put a gen 2 shortblock, swapped it in with the gen 1 heads, timing parts and blower and turned it up and made 700wheel. And put that torquey turd in the old car.

Clearly I bought it for the Trunk space and ergonomics.

My point was, I don't care how good Car XXX is on the track if I never intend to track it. I don't care how much power it can make with a stock block if I will never twin-turbo it.

So buying XXX because it's a track beast that can take boost, even though I hate everything else about the car, is just stupid.

Everything is relative.
