I am not trying to insult your mechanical abilities but did you try and get all the bolts started before tightening any of them down?

I ask because I've seen a very similar situation where someone bolted the K up to the Frame rails and tightened those 4 bolts with it pushed all the way forward and the same bolt holes in the rear were off and wouldn't accept the bolts.

I’ll have to agree, that’s like Rule #1. get all bolts in before tightening them. Also remember the trans mount and crossmember has some adjustment too, it might be helpful, so I’d loosen those bolts if you haven’t already. It may provide the adjustment you need.

I have this k member sitting on my work bench to install this weekend, I bought it after trying to get a racecraft to fit but failing, and I remember being able to move the motor around quite a bit as I needed with those trans bolts loosened.

You'd be surprised at how many people don't know Rule#1. My absolute favorites are the YouTube car channels that act like experts that don't know that rule let alone several others. Some of the things I've seen make me sick.

I meant to suggest the trans mount and crossmember as well. That is definitely something that should be looked at as well.

Not insulted at all. At first no, but then I loosened all of them with the same result. In my case there is little to no adjustment front to back or side to side

Not sure how that would work. The motor mount studs would still need to slide in the slots along with the alignment tabs on yhe motor mounts.
Plus the four front frame mounts have nowhere to go, no adjustments can be made from what I van tell

Spoke to BMR today. I'm going to pull their k-member and take some measurements vs my stock piece.
Didn't have it in me to go outside tonight and do it. Ill get it done tomorrow.
I'm guessing its off both front to back and height wise

I guess I should have been a little more clear.

If you were able to install the k member without the engine in place that would tell me you need to adjust the trans mount back. But if it flat out wont fit than it's pointless.

Now we are getting somewhere. Pulled the bmr piece out and measured it against the stocker. Its .75" shorter from the front mounting points to the rear. That explains it. Have all the pics into bmr, we'll see what they say. Enjoy my artwork!

That HAS to be a jig issue. Seriously how else would that rear mounting point be off 3/4 of an inch?

Additionally I don't like that the rear mount plate appears to not be welded underneath. I wonder why they didn't weld it?
I'm not a welder so I have no clue. You always hear about things moving around while welding because of heat and such.

Haven't heard anything from them yet. I'm guessing its a jig issue, has to be. Just suckd because the car has been down for about 10-12 days now and I'm missing all this BOOST weather.

I just measured mine and it’s the same at 8.5 inches. Thankfully I’m not in the middle of an install but now I’m in the same boat. I’m not mad but it’s a little disappointing.

Well now I need to go measure mine! Bought it when it was on sale for $199 and was waiting to do a few things all at once

Oh no... I am in the process right now. Just have one more stupid KBB header to install. Old K-member is already out so I had better check new k-member now.

Well I hope you guys have better luck than I did!
I called BMR and spoke to Dion who’s the 94-04 Mustang guy. I mentioned this thread and the post about the fitment issue and he said he did hear from someone about that, that was supposed to send photos, which I’m guessing is you. He told me to take photos/measurements and send them, which I will when I get home from work. He did say something about someone not having hardware(maybe the spacers?) that is required for the fitment, but I wasn’t sure if it was you.

I am all of the above. He keeps talking about spacers and hard ware kits like they will fix the problem. Im not mad or upset with anybody at BMR right now. But for God's sake the spacers aren't spacers! It literally is only for the rear mounts and they are just there to get a good grip on the k-member, nothing else. If you look at the parts you will see. The rest of the hardware is for the steering rack. Nothing goes between the k-member and the frame.
Dion has been helpful so far. I get his spot, he's the sales guy in the middle right now. He has all my pictures and measurements as of last night at 10pm.
I also informed him that other folks from this thread were measuring and getting the same as me. So he should be expecting some more calls.
I'm hoping to havevan answer by tomorrow

Haha yeah I know they’re not spacers, I’m not sure why he called them that, but I just went with it because I didn’t want to argue. The last thing I want to do is burn bridges with them over the phone. I had a pleasant conversation and laughed at a few things. Hopefully this gets sorted out. I’ll tell you one thing though, I’m glad I sub to this thread because I was planning on installing it this weekend. This saved me a potential headache.
