Hello, I'm thinking of selling my beloved Cobra. Now I've made it quite unique for my taste, however, I think its been done rather tastefully. I'm thinking of selling it now and don't know what it's really worth. What do you guys think here? Here's basically my ad. The only thing that hurts it I feel like is the mileage and the driver's seat. Everything else I feel like is very good.

Originally laser red with parchment interior. 162k. I have an excel document with mileage and date of everything I’ve done since the car has been in my possession. I also have a lot of the past paperwork from previous owners including the window sticker and marti report. 4.6 4V V8 with what appears to me to have a teksid block.

Recent maintenance: power steering pump replaced, oil pan gasket replaced, valve cover gaskets replaced, low mile tr3650 installed, exedy mach 400 clutch, exedy light weight flywheel, diff fluid changed.

Mods:
-space berry autoflex, body not 100% perfect, some dings on it, 2 places where the wrap exposes the color underneath, top of door under window about the size of a bb, and on top where the driver side scoop and body connect
-Sunroof that doesn’t leak(installed professionally, still have receipt)
-ESR CS 11, 19x8.5 19x10.5, pirelli AS on front could stand to be replaced soon, General g max rs in the rear with 10k miles on them.
-03/04 oem mach one sail panels hood and shaker
-03/04 oem rear bumper and spoiler with carbondriven sequential 3rd brake light
-BMR k member
-UPR Motor mounts
-maximum motorsport parts:
—forward offset tubular control arms, new steeda x2 ball joints
—front coilovers on bilsteins, 35k on them
—C/C plates
—bumpsteer kit
—rear shocks
—sway bar relocation
—subframe connectors
-H&R Race springs on the rear
-03/04 IRS with billetflow diff brace
-O/R H pipe, unsure of brand
-bassani catback
-MGW short throw with MGW Cobra shift ball
-JLT cai
-LED rear bumper reflectors
-yellow XTS calipers with 14” gt500 rotors (these do not fit with the current wheels, so along with the stainless steel braided brake lines) will likely sell these separate unless I get a different set of wheels before I sold it

Cons: 162k, motor still runs like a top, I basically daily drive it. as you will see in the photos, drivers seat is bad. Steering wheel has to be recovered (working on getting a new one before selling) and the only leak it has is a leaking power steering rack (another thing I am working on getting a new one before selling)

What would you guys value it at, or how much should I ask for it? Obviously no one wants to be the guy that looks like they're high trying to price their vehicle.

I agree with 7-8K

If you changed the drivers seat I think you could maybe ask 10k and see what you get. (Meaning I think you would easily get your $ for a new seat back and maybe more for the car)

Good luck!

I agree. 7-8. Maybe 9 if they absolutely love the color. Its going to be a hard sell to get much more. New edges just don’t bring the coin right now but they are starting too for clean examples.

Why the sell if i could ask?

99-01 Cobra values are weird. Some higher mileage cars sell for what low mileage ones are. Eventually you get to a point where it makes sense to buy something else for the money. I sold my yellow 01 with 36k for $12k last year. I couldn’t image getting much more for even a more desirable color.

For yours, I would agree with $7-8k. List for $8k, take $7k.

Any time you sell a car that you have put so much into it, it is going to seem to you like you are giving it away.

That was me in August. I got more than good price for it but it was a killer anyway. Wasn’t so much the $. But all the memories and time spent on the car.

Thanks everyone! This was actually my exact thinking, and I’ve had it up at 8 for a few weeks now. Unfortunately no real bites yet, I knew going into it I was going to lose out but I’ve understood that time and money don’t necessarily increase value, especially with the amount of miles. Thanks for confirming I wasn’t asking too much! I’ll eventually end up with another.. lots of ideas bouncing around for perhaps a raptor in the future, however, a house comes first! Which is why I am selling, paying down debt and putting money towards the down payment, every cent counts!

Combination of things really, it’s not really that I need to sell it, but after almost 5 years just reflecting about all the money I spent into cosmetics, makes me really wish I had spent it all on the engine, and the thought now of basically doing a terminator swap on top of all the money I’ve spent just pains me to think about, would rather cut my losses and get rid of it. Plus we’re house shopping, and at the same time the wife is getting tired of her charger and wants a pick up, so extra cash would be a great argument for that Raptor she wants but is unsure of aha
