Yes, there is a buyer, and maybe even a Super Snake owner out there who has not seen them yet. I have had a couple of Super Snake owners recently contact me saying they chose the Black option for these wheels when their car went through Shelby and they are now contemplating getting the "other" finish option for their car, to "also" have the Bright set of correct wheels for a change in look from time to time.

I will deal somewhat on these wheels/tires, but they are too nice and unique to sell for 1-piece Alcoa "SHELBY FORGED" or "FIFTY YEARS - SHELBY FORGED" money.

I sold the set of Bare Modulares shown below back in the March/April time period for $5200 shipped in the 48 states, they DID include TPMS, TPMS holders and correct new Lug nuts. They were "Reconditioned" from Shelby. does that make them New? or Used?........If they were perfect/flawless they would not have needed to be reconditioned. So $5200 for a set of 4 Bare/Reconditioned Modulares with all of the valuable Super Snake and Shelby information engraved on them was recent reality for the H9's in the picture below.............and then the tire purchase for the buyer/owner after the $5200 (shipped) wheel buy.....

You think the black are worth more, greater demand?

Sent from my SM-G975U using the svtperformance.com mobile app

I think "Black" is "in" right now, but I have seen many forum posts in wheel threads where many owners do not care for Black wheels of any kind.......It is a personal preference I would guess. I am fortunate to have both with my widened Super Snake engraved Alcoa's.........and to be honest, many of my "car guy" friends have candidly told me that my Torch Red - Black striped Super Snake looks better with the Bright Alcoa's......I have heard it multiple times.....but currently the Bright Alcoa's are not mounted because I just got the wheels back from Eric V. a couple of months ago and have not gotten around to put that all together, so the Black Alcoa's are still on my car......

but the DuraBrights look good also......They "POP" in the sunlight.....

This morning I just purchased another set of Bright S550 Shelby Forged wheels to test fit on my car, the Baer Extreme rears are the big issue, if these wheels fit, front and rear, I will be in Great shape. They are arriving later this week for test fitting......Fingers crossed!

...................I can hear the gears turning !!

Like I said, Black may be the hype right now, the plus side of Black.......it hides brake dust,......the negative side of Black wheels, they blend in and do not stand out like most owners want wheels to do, especially if they are "unique" wheels.

The negative side of the Bright wheels.......they will show brake dust quicker.....the positive side.....They "POP" when the light hits them and draw attention to the car itself......<<<<That being said, I am not a "Chrome wheel guy", it is nice to have bright machined surfaces that catch light, but not Chrome for me....Well maybe a nice set of Black Chrome wheels, depending upon the wheel design....

I think Black wheels have a more aggressive look possibly, but I believe most guys and most of the Ladies prefer the Bright wheels....Like I said, the Bright wheels catch everyone's eyes.

I know we have talked extensively behind the scenes @Robert M.

~~Willing to do yard work for wheels~~~~

My wife polled 8 of her female friends yesterday and sent them these 2 pictures as reference.
Results: 7/8 voted Black Wheels But they are a younger generation.

Old school people such as myself (47) have always liked the chrome bullets or Keystone look since highschool. All my Terminators had POLISHED or Chrome lipped True Forged wheels.
And finally, my '11 Kona Blue had Alcoa Durabrites.

Having had durabrites, brake dust shows MORE on the black wheels. I promise.
Especially when the sun hits it, you can see residue in the lug nut barrels. I've never been all in on all black wheels on a mustang/shelby. Trucks, Jeeps yes.

If this were Pre Covid right now, I would have already driven down to pick them up. As it is, I'm shucking parts off now just to be $$ safe at this point.

So my car with black wheels vs the SS (same scheme and color) with silver wheels

Open peanut gallery for comments :)

Well, I must admit that when I recently had my Black Alcoa's off for individual cleaning "all the way to the back", I did not notice a lot of brake dust, as long as I did not touch the surface and leave finger marks. Once the dust was disturbed, it was very noticeable. I guess I always kept the Durabrights cleaner so they never showed brake dust........and I agree about the generational thing.....

I also wonder if the "rougher" surface (as it were) with the PC finish helps to hold the brake dust on the surface vs. the Very Smooth surface on a non-PC or cleared wheel?

That last picture you linked really shows the nice offset these wheel have, in comparison to the Alcoa's......I may been to grab those pictures for my Modulare gallery.......I have gotten quite a few PM questions about how these wheels would kook on a specific color and stripe combination?

Those Bright Modulares REALLY do "POP" against that Red and the Black stripes!!!........not being partial, they just do!

When comparing your color Red and my brighter Torch Red, to me it almost looks better when comparing between the two bright wheels and the body colors.....

^ just keep in mind, that is a wide body SS.

But if you need specific pics of my wheels and how they sit to help a sale just let me know. I have lots of angles taken.

Yes, I noticed that is a widebody and "possibly" the rear tires may sit further inward slightly with that 345 tire wheel combination.......

I like the look of those Bright wheels and the Red body color with the Black stripes better than the Shelby media photo's I have seen that are a Red/White stripe color combination Super Snake with those Bright finish wheels.

Black wheels suck
Black wheels suck
Black wheels suck
It hides the quality, or lack there of... of the wheel IMO

Thank you, I see my financial investment to you has paid off for the advancement of my Bright wheel sale.....THANKS!!!..........LOL!!!;)

^^^^^^Just kidding.....but on the serious side, that is what I have seen voiced also (many times).....Black just blends everything in and the definition in a nice set of wheels disappears in the Black....

On the phone with 1Kona_Venom discussing your wheels & asked what look he was after ? With his paint / stripe combo, I commented that black " blends in ", & the brushed clear would stand out more. There is enough other brightwork on his car to tie in with non black wheels..

^^^^^Yes, I have noticed that also, when the wheels are Bright, especially on a darker color car, the eyes catch the wheels and then the emblems "pop" visually also.....

As no one sees these as the " bargain " they are, you may have to sit on them till tax refunds start showing up.
.
bargain
......a thing bought or offered for sale more cheaply than is usual or expected..

It's a terrible year to try and sell big ticket items. Now that we are into December....the struggle of buying and selling anything, is real.

I know and I agree. Maybe next year will be better (hopefully), maybe tax time will be better, but to be honest, I made some stock changes back when the market took a dive (9 months ago or so) and have made/gained money well past the $5000 price of these wheels to reinvest in other Shelby stuff. If I were in the market for a set of these wheels, I could have easily bought them from a few shares of Apple stock alone, especially after the 4 way split a couple of months ago. I look at it as diversity in my portfolio, some is tangible, like Shelby stuff and some is not (and when the non-tangible stuff loses, you have nothing). Some of it makes money and some of it breaks even during ownership and the "gain" is owning and/or using the item(s).

I also know there are many other wheel options out there for far less money........but then what is their "investment" value? Are they wheels that can be bought, kept nice, use and enjoy and sell for what was paid or possibly a profit? or are they wheels that are bought, there are plenty of them out there, and the recoup at sale time is pennies on the dollar?

It is always a gamble, but "usually" the rare/hard to find stuff wins in the end and the common stuff just keeps going lower and lower in value......
