I went to the local track looking to break into the elusive 10 second club. Conditions were pretty good and my mods are as follows:

2.3 ported TVs trinity with 2.4 pulley
67mm tb
123cai
72lb injectors and vmp boost a pump.
Kooks headers and off-road hpipe.
3:73 gears
Suspension upgrades

first run I had a bad burnout and didn’t come out the hole aggressive at all because of it. Boom it hooked anyway.

alright so I let it sit an hour and cool down. Decide to launch harder this time. Boom it hooks again. I am smoking my shifts and am on my way to the 10’s. Then disaster struck. I missed 4th. Can you believe that. I was so jacked I guess I just screwed up. Anyway:

Now I am pissed and hot lap it. I decide I will really launch aggressive this time. Take it up to a lil over 5000 rpm. It spins, and I do my best.

I am disappointed and decide to hot lap it again and launch around 4000 rpm, like I did on my best 60. I totally screw up the launch and bogged and go. I was not smooth at all.

I called it a night. It was getting late. And they had two incidents Tonight that left oil on track and took about 1 hour 30 minutes To clean up both. It was kinda aggravating how long it took to clean track. Still had fun just a lil frustrated that I messed up my best run by missing 4th of all things. It’s like a glass ceiling I just can’t break. I need to get better and more consistent on the launch. I do have to say my suspension and tires seemed to be working great. I am happy about that for sure. Just need a driver mod. Until next time.

One last thing. On My first run I had a guy with an old firebird Race car. You could tell it wasn’t gonna be the fastest but he had it setup right and absolutely launched like a rocket. By mid track he had two car lengths I would say but I was reeling him in. The back half of the track I absolutely ran him down and took the win by half a car. Ain’t gonna lie it was quite the rush lol.

What tire were you on? You drop that 60' just a little bit and you are in the 10's for sure. Congrats!

No snow, but we just got finished getting hit by by a category 2 almost 3 hurricane. In late October no less. My lights just got turned on at 3:30 pm yesterday. Thank god it was a fast mover and a cold front came thru right after. Only 2 days out of electricity. I will take it. 10-20 miles below me got hit hard. The eye passed over me but the bad part of eye wall hit lower.

m@h race master 275/45/18 are my tires.

it was fun, but like I said it was really frustrating knowing that I blew my best run in a 4th gear shift!!!!.

I agree, those were decent times. And more important, you got to get to a track and have some fun. Sounds like your highlight was racing that Firebird. With practice will come better times!
