Can you post a video of using the quick fuel?

Sure, keeping the tank empty while it’s not tracked to prevent the foam inside the bladder from corroding, I’ll throw a vid up once it’s on the track though

outstandinggg, why the 13' stripe as opposed to the 12' scheme?

Originally it had the 13-14 front and rear end setups when it was used in the grand am 2012 season. Only reason I used the 2011-2012 rear because I couldn’t really justify paying an outrageous amount of money for the 13-14 tail lights when I know at one point or another someone’s going to tap the rear and crack the housings lol.

The 13-14 stripes looked cleaner in my opinion and after researching all the 302R’s it seems that they most either came with the stripes I had put on or were naked

Here’s some pics of the dash install lol I’ve never felt worse about cutting up a brand new dash, but when multimatic assembled them this was the method used in order for it to clear the cage with the additional FIA bars that the 302Rs and 302S’s came with.

Had to make notches in the “dash pad” portion to be able to clear the rear bars along with cutting the dash horizontally to be installed in 2 pieces. The retaining clips for the trim pieces and AC vents are what hold the upper and lower portion together, and it makes for an easily removable dash pad to perform diagnostics or additions to the wiring if needed

Data acquisition and telemetry system came in today. Did some research on a company called Autosport Labs and saw they offered an amazing package for an amazing price(compared to AIM). $299 got me a data acquisition system that connects via CANBUS/OBD2 and reads all the parameters off the stock ECU so no need to run extra wires for additional sensors. Built in gyro meter to be able to get turn by turn info on the car and GPS antenna with track layouts to lace it all together to be able to datalog like never before. Going to install it next weekend with pics, seems very very simple. Purchased an NVIDIA shield tablet to run as the display with the Watson racing mounting plate on the steering column. Can’t wait to try it out

Also purchased a 4x8 Dibond sheet, some FTR splitter rods, and L brackets from Home Depot to fabricate a sturdy splitter. Juicy pics to come soon

Curious to see how you like the Racecapture. Thinking of going with it instead of the AIM unit.

It’s great, my only gripe is that it only comes with generic PIDs for data. you would have to reverse engineer additional PIDs you wanted or run a standalone sensor via CANBUS. you can make it as simple or as complex as you want though, the only additional sensor I needed to install was an oil pressure setup since the stock oil pressure sensor is a dummy anyway. You are also able to program fault lights on the screen if your desired input reads less or more than X amount.

Can you not manually add manufacturer specific PIDs to monitor? Hell, I can do that on my OBD scanner on my phone so I would think it would have to have that option somewhere.

The way it was explained to me, Autolabs is a grassroots company and the Ford specific PIDs are intellectual property of Ford. For them to purchase the rights to use them it’s about $40k. You can manually add them still, but the formulas have to be reverse engineered.

The actual individual PID #s may be Ford specific but I think the calculations are pretty much the same depending on sensor used for most manufacturers, I mean we’re dealing with known values in temp, pressure, etc. I know I had to do some legwork such as what you’re talking about but I’m willing to bet it’s out there.

My suggestion, find someone with EFIlive, HPTuners or the like and a good knowledge of the software and make a database of what what you need and the calculations from those programs.

That post above was for the known extended PIDs, beyond that I feel your pain. What exactly were you wanting to add?

the only additional PID i was looking to add was the AFR value that the PCM reads off the factory widebands. Just wanted to add it in and then set a preset value where it would set off an indicator if it becomes too lean to prevent catastrophic failure if one of the pumps in the fuel bladder failed

Gotcha, wasn’t that available for viewing in the DIC on the factory cluster? Iirc, people were able to monitor that through apps such as Dash Command and the Torque app so I would think you should be able to find the info for that parameter. I just remember because of the discussion for some people not having it match their own stand alone wideband but it was because of the stoich input Ford used based on type of fuel.

There never was a factory cluster on this car thank you for the info, I’ll report back once I get the formula

Latest update:

-spent the whole day fabricating the splitter, splitter brackets, and air dam for the cooling systems.

Wanted to create the brackets so that the front bumper could be removed for service/repair without having to take the splitter, or vice versa. Very handy to be able to take one or the other off and not everything for the building material it was 1/4 fasteners with nylon nuts and 1 x 1/20th angled aluminum from Home Depot. Great material to work with. Splitter itself was made from Dibond 1/4”.

Also, the splitter design seemed to work best because it has a tolerance since it’s nut and bolts. I tested it out and there’s tolerance on both X and Y axis in the event you hit debris while on track. It pivots on the bolts but is sturdy enough to stand on.

Point is, if you’re running a Ford ECM the data stream should be available or at least see a configuration table since it was available in oem form for those year model controllers forward.

Mocking up the differential cooler setup now. Used a tilton pump with a generic radiator with thicker fins to account for the viscosity of the gear oil. Tilton pump and an in-line filter to prevent any contamination from the gear oil from entering the pump assembly. GT500 diff cover with temp sensor plumbed and AN setups on the inlet/outlet ports.

Christmas came early. Going to do the alignment myself and dial in the suspension myself. Figured it would be nice to buy the equipment and have the luxury to modify the alignment depending on the track configuration. Thanks to Terry from Vorshlag I was able to get some info on the optimal alignment for the S197 chassis for track only use and it seems the optimal camber is between 2.3-2.5 degrees. Toe will stay zeroed out and then it’s a matter of adjusting pinion angle for the UCA in the rear and adjusting the preload on the coil overs to account for driver weight.

Also purchased the lifeline fire suppression system. Wife saw the formula 1 GP and after seeing the haas car go up in flames it became my Christmas present
