This is a public image move.

The truth is they will sell the guns and ammo to an FFL at inflated prices and make an obscene profit with not making anything safer.

Talking to dealers and my old club back in Michigan, ammo levels won't reach pre shortage levels until nov 2022. We have quite a wait.

If you see it and its a decent price, buy it, store it. Been doing that since 2012 Sandy Hook.

I don't think this is the same public image move they made when they stopped selling AR15s and handgun ammo, I think it's a temporary "we don't want looters stealing our shit and then being armed" move.

I could be way off base

But 7.62X25mm is better as it's able to defeat type III body armor at 25 feet on in. But I got both Russian Maks a 8 shot military and a double stack high capacity that I put a 9X18 barrel in. Can't wait until someone tries to steal it reads the 380 on the slide and wonder why they can't hit anything with it. Simple 380 is .355 bore 9 Mak is .365!!!

My Dad has a stainless .380 Mak. It's a heavy bastard. If ammo gets in short supply you could mount is on a stick and use it as a mace.

I am stocked and the bans will come- just a matter of when. Not a good time to advertise armor defeating ammunition....just sayin..

I called to check stock for 7mm Rem Mag rounds, and they confirmed they had it. Went in, and they said they won't sell it to me until after the election. Maybe that particular manager didn't know what he was talking about?

yea it was short lived. Saw some rifles displayed, as well as ammo. Not sure what they had tho.

The stores local to me aren't stocking anything on the shelf, not sure if they are just out (of every caliber, I doubt it) or what is going on. It's not like they ever have anyone working that department to try and ask either, god I hate walmart. Use to buy all of my ammo there but now the only things they carry that I shoot are 22lr and 12 gauge.

On a side note I've had some luck at academy lately. I stopped by the other morning as I was in the area and was talking to an employee who directed me to customer service, said they aren't stocking the popular stuff on the shelf any more, just putting it at customer service. I lucked out and they had 5.56 in stock, limited to 3 boxes. He said people are waiting in line for them to open every morning to see if they had a truck come in. I was off the next day so I decided to go see for myself, sure enough there were like 30 people in line. I was number 15 and by the time I reached the counter they were out of most of the stuff they got in, I snagged some more 5.56, 12 gauge buckshot, and last box of .40.

It's deer season, plenty of people buying .30-06.

I find it funny that most people don't realize that common game rounds will defeat the typical vests you'll likely ever see anywhere outside an active war zone.

Was shooting my Five-seveN and some dork at the range tried telling me that "civilians shouldn't have guns that "break" through soft body armor"...... While he was shooting an AR10 lol

Remember back in the 90's after the stupid crime bill got passed, that the ATF wanted to start researching armor piercing ammo. And the author just basically said you take a New York City phone book stand it on edge and at 50 yards shoot at it, if it passes through then it's armor piercing if not then it was alright for us lowly rabble to own and use.
