1895/1915 obr. Winchester Russian Contract cheap to shoot since it is chambered in 7.62X54R. The 1895 was able to handle full power rifle rounds due to the positive rear lock up it had. And the regular magazine so as to be able to use spitzer/pointed bullets.

Every time you post a photo of that thing; makes me want one even more.

Pick your poison.

A good friend of mine (sadly deceased) owned a John Wayne 100th Anniversary Custom Grade Winchester 1892. I remember the day it was delivered to him. Gorgeous rifle. And not cheap. It's out of production, of course.

This is good news about Marlin being acquired by Sturm,Ruger. This acquisition should end up being a great move for the manufacturer, and the consumer.

And the Germans don't like it either. This was a trench raid that was stopped dead right in front of our sector of the front. The concrete block structure to the far left is a MG position and the guy actually has a 1916 made 08 German MG class III at night you can just see the flames lick when he starts to sweep side to side when us Russians and French get feisty and so want to come on over and do diplomatic negotiations 1918 style.

I've been thinking about a .38/357 or 44spc./magnum lever gun for a while.
Things are just too crazy right now. Maybe after November.

I had a Rossi .357 lever action that was SO FUN to shoot. I miss that gun, shouldnt have sold it.

great quality guns. The Super Redhawk is a monster, the GP100 is a tack driver, the mark series pistols are the standard for .22lr pistols, the 10-22 is a legend.

Jeff, do you know much about the Ruger GP100? I'm thinking about buying one. 4" barrel, .357. Here's the one I'm looking at. I saw your post and then watched the video under the photo.

We used to own one and I know a couple guys who owned them and they were overbuilt powerhouses. We had the 6” one like Sid. Solid shooter that ate everything we fed it.

I have a 6" barrel version. Great gun.
I looked at the 6" but the reviews said for home defense the 4" is recommended. 6" for hunting, although the velocity is higher with the 6". Hmmm.

I would assume the 6" which is slightly heavier might feel better controlled? It definitely is built solid. Much more so than my two 9mms.

I also see that .357 ammo is over twice as much per round as 9mm. Right now, though, neither is available. :(

Yeah ours was used for hogs. It’s crazy out there what shells are going for right now. The SP101 comes in 9mm and 327 magnum. Ive never shot one, but the reviews were great

I had 336s from the early 90s that killed 2 bucks for me and was a tack driver. Regret getting rid of it.

sold mine to my cousin back then. only gun sale i regret. that thing was slick as hell.

The 6" is a tank. I think a 4" would be much easier to wield if you don't need the inherent advantages of the 50% longer barrel.

The GP100 in 327 is a 7-shot gun. Makes it a bit more interesting. You can get it in a 10MM too. If they had a .22Mag version I'd probably buy it.

I didn’t know about the 327 mag or 10mm. Been thinking about spending the 160$ and doing a heritage 22 mag revolver myself. For home protection the 4” would work well.

Same here, my Dad got me a Marlin 881 tube fed .22 bolt action rifle for Christmas.
Still have it in the safe.
