Can't speak to the history with respect to Mustangs but for me it is a pure visual effect that makes the car appear lower and pushes your eyes down lower than without it.

I agree with Tob, I think it also helps accentuate the other black highlights on the car. My 2012 yellow blaze boss had the black roof and it looked really good. My 2021, when I finally get to put my order in, will have the black roof and no stripes.

I opted for the black roof on my 2020. Like mentioned above I think it really compliments the other black accent pieces on the car.

This is the exact colour combo I am thinking of ordering, this or twisted orange with black roof. I like the stripes but don’t want the vinyl and don’t want to spend the money for painted stripes, so will order w/o stripes

Agreed. Black roof I think really offsets certain colors and adds to the aesthetic appeal. Personally, I LOVE the Twister Orange, but I don't think I would have went with it if black roof wasn't an option. It's TOO much without it. The roof matching the wheels, spoiler and hood make it.

After having a glass roof 2014 it’s something I think compliments the build. I plan to order black roof stripe delete. Side stripes are an interesting idea though.
Or white stripes and red pins on Iconic Silver with the white Recaros.

Now you have me thinking...if I keep my Twister Orange 500..do I have the stripes added, black roof, or keep the car solid orange?!

Depends on your tastes. I think stripes are dated, black roof is nice but def do not do both. All Opinion.

No, not both. Ponder what adding either roof or stripes might do to value when it comes time to part company?

Thought about going the wrap route for either roof or stripes, but I guess I have this thing regarding non painted graphics. And am not quite sure why.

Quite possibly the prettiest Shelby I have ever seen. Would def rock the new Orange if it was in my cards now.

Well done sir!
