going with m130 but not making the jump until my trans is pretty well proven. DBW for throttle blip downshifts and being able to work with the closed loop trans controller are the main reasons.

about to pull the trigger on an m150 for my viper. They are the best units to have other than price, how well they work is largely do to your tuner as always and typically to who wrote the firmware for the motec for your specific vehicle. (often its Johnreedracing)

I’m doing motec as we speak but it’s will be In My gt500 4.7 KB with a wastegate modification that will co trip boost just like if you had a turbo.

Awesome I've been wanting to see someone wastegate a twinscrew/roots/tvs! Pulley that thing down to the smallest pulley available, then with boost control and traction control will be awesome! build thread?

Yes the car will be pullied as low as possible, car will have 6 traction control sensors and have boost by gear and rolling anti lag, I haven’t made a thread yet as my car has been down for over 2 years now haha this project snowballed on me, we are In The final stages and have a lot of pics. I’ll be running m150.

I don’t have any experience with motec but was looking at buying a car that had a basic system last year... Shawn Fischer was highly recommended as one of the top motec guys. After talking with him about installing the TC module on that car, it became very clear why. He’d be a good resource for you...

YES!!! Shawn has my car as we speak he is the one doing all my work with the motec system hes a very anal person and his attention to detail is above and beyond minus how long my car has been ther almost a year but this the kinda stuff you don’t wanna rush because a mistake can cost you and engine so I’ll wait....

I know the guys at Fathouse Fabrications use it a lot when building crazy horsepower GT350 twin turbo cars.

Ouch, that’s a long time, but I agree it is best to do it right. Your build sounds amazing. Not that it matters, but I happen to live about 15 minutes from Shawn’s shop. I’m also from Albuquerque originally...

Haha nice if I was local I feel like I’d be bugging him a lot more than I do and my car would probably be done.

Your viper on motec and a sequential would be crazy, not that it isn’t already, that’s my goal to end up doing sequential but it carries a 15k price tag

If you do go sequential skip the ppg it doesn’t last long at high levels, spend a little more and to 6xd way stronger

The professional D1 drift guys install used NASCAR sequential which will run you about $7k and can handle upwards of 1200hp. Not sure on lomgterm reliability but I know about that from my buddy who was the team manager for Daigo Saito and all of the cars he has utilized which includes two 1500whp twin turbo 572ci C6R racecars converted to drift cars.

Is Fathouse Fab doing the work on your GT500?
Edit:
Never mind. Just read the rest and seen Shawn Fischer is doing the work.

A lot of the formula d guys are converting to 6xd now. Much stronger than the nascar style boxes and easier to service. Many have been pushed to over 2000 ft lbs and 3khp. All the big hp viper guys have been switching to it with fantastic results

Some info for ya

There is also this option for about $1800 instead of the 15k for a full transmission.

I’m looking at it closely to possibly put one in a newer GT350 with a no-lift-shift box. To keep it on topic I am seriously considering the Motec M150 for the GT350 also!
I’m only a couple hours North of Fathouse Fab and they seem to have the Motec for the GT350 nailed down completely!
Edited to add link

Hell yea bro, I got a gt350 also and the good thing about owning an m150 box is that u can use it on multiple vehicles you would just have to buy the license for it, after I’m done with the gt500 I’ll probably spend the 1k for the license and fat house fab has a plug and play harness for the gt350 it’s pricey at like 3500 but you can have all the motec capabilities for a fraction of the full setup this is my gt350

Very nice! I didn’t realize that about the M150. That would be great. I love your GT350 and those wheels look great lol.
I edited my post above with the actual link for the sequential shifters that I was referring to. I forgot to add the link the first time I posted lol.

Totally getting sidetracked- but that looks awesome and it's got me thinking. Although it seems like it would be odd to run without a dogbox/faceplated transmission, having to use the clutch.

You still have to use the clutch for each shift just like you do with a dogbox/faceplated transmission.
I apologise for getting off topic!
