Well done - I've only just seen the thread! Looks like a huuuge job, it's surprising how much energy these ongoing jobs take. I've been out in the garage working on my 63.5 and I've lost a ton of weight!

Just a tip for the Ambers: I have seen people say you can heat the housings and pull the lenses off and buy some cheap red lights with good chrome and swap them over. I have never seen/spoken to anyone who has done this successfully, but guys who have tried and failed say the best idea is to cut/grind the rear housing off the amber/red lenses then cut the red lenses off a cheap but good pair of std lights. Clean up using a dremel or similar then cut the indicator fitting into the housing, glue the amber lenses back on and you;re in business. Sounds like a big deal, but apparently can be done very successfully.

Happy Thanksgiving! Car was running and driving great until it started eating PCM fuses. Diagnosing that. Below is a pic of it waiting for the tow truck. Definitely planning on doing the turbos!

Found my PCM-fuse-blowing cause, I think: the ignition capacitors on the backs of the cylinder head. I poked one and its insulation fell off. Used this as an excuse to start my Feal coilover install (don't mind the wheel well dirt, I'll detail it).

Also started the third or fourth engine bay clean-up.

I get more of the flex seal (before, below) off each time, but it's still far from perfect.

Awesome job OP. The Cobra looks amazing!

There’s a yellow C6Z that needs you..... :D
LOL! THAT would be a project he could tackle. The Vette was a total mess. But it could be saved.

I love @foofinator's saved Cobra. What a transformation. After the turbo mod, it's gonna be a stomping beast.

Merry Christmas!

Put the '04 Cobra's old CCW 505a's on the car to see how they'd look. They need to be polished; have been sitting in the back of my garage for at least a year. Don't mind the camber; I've just now set ride height on the coilovers and need to get an alignment.

Bought this on Copart about a year ago and have been slowly fixing it up. I've got a soft spot for this era of Mustang. This one probably wasn't worth saving, but it's well on the way. So far, it's been set to running (and well), has a new top, interior, flywheel, clutch, transmission, driveshaft, and differential (I know I'm forgetting a few things). I'll post some updated pics soon.

Flex seal painted hood. Nice.

And a teaser, as the car currently sits. Rebuilding the IRS right now.

Those tan cobra seats are a gem, extremely rare and wish those were in good shape

Just a off topic thing I wanted to say, your car is a absolute beauty, get the top replaced with the velvet softer material. The vinyl ones look ugly after all that sun. I did my top 2 years ago and it changed the look.

I see that the coil-overs are installed. Looks good.

So, did you definitely resolve the PCM-fuse-blowing issue?

Omg just went thru this whole thread since the start great job with it. I bought a neglected 96 mystic cobra (previous owner painted red) back in 2017 when my mom passed and I am almost done with it as well. Love the wheels

I have an 01 cobra vert and I definitely want to do the 03-04 top. Where did you get yours?
