"So you're calling for the censoring of the censorship thread because you like the guy being asked?" ~Devil's Advocate

Like said above, he won't respond to this thread and shouldn't if he likes his job

"Nothing makes me question ALL of my life decisions like SVTP."

Nope.

I could care less about his politics.

He drives the living **** out of cars that most people never take out of their garages and shares it with us. That makes him a car guy’s car guy and puts him solidly in my cool book.

The only thing I want know is has he ever met Hamilton, Schumacher, Vettel or Alonzo? These are the things I need to know.

I remember watching Treynor's videos on Streetfire when he had his SL65 and Turbo'd Viper. He is an OG SVTP'er

Correct, I work in operations. Need to decrease latency between Charlotte and Austin? I'm your guy. Getting intermittent errors accessing the home page? My phone's already ringing. And so on.

The OP's question seems to be about policy. I'm so far removed from policy that, like the rest of you, I typically learn about developments in the news. And that's doubly true of decisions made at other companies - AWS's Jassy is not calling to get my opinion about jack.

Added bonus: because I'm a senior manager, pretty much anything I say or do will be tied to my employer, even if it's just my own private action or opinion. Notice how all those car news articles start with "GOOGLE EXECUTIVE BEN TREYNOR races his Ford GT around..."? Yeah. So generally if you want my opinion on something unrelated to cars you're not going to get it, because there's no way for it to just be my opinion, it's always going to be represented as my employer's opinion. It's unfortunate, but it is also reality.

Anyway, onward.
Thank you for popping in here, Teynor, and for that explanation. I know 1000% more about you now than I did after reading your post, and I've read tons of your posts over the years. Anyway, onward!!!!!

That would make a great license plate for @treynor

OGSVTP

You know, I think that would suit the FGT quite nicely...

Its been a few years since I have joined a conversation here. I will try to be as non-controversial as i can with this.

This is not the America I grew up with and loved. I love my country very much, however our country has become big government and big money. Thats all that runs our country. I'm retired so I can pretty much speak what I want without the risk of losing my employment. Saying that alone hurts, our country was founded on having freedoms that did not come with repercussions. Such as free speech. Now people are forced to conform or risk losing everything because their ideas and opinions do not align with others. To have to worry that your business title will lead in your personal life. To be-enslaved is truly what that is. We should not live in fear for sharing our views. It should not automatically be assumed because we voted for a person that we support all of their views and all of the words that leave their mouth. America has decided to quite using critical thinking and has resorted to knee-jerking. I voted for someone because I agreed with some of their platforms ideas and I disagreed with the other parties. In a truly free nation I should be able to do that without worry. Without living in fear that my work will find out I am a republican or a Democrat and take action against me.
I will say this softly so I do not offend others, Americans have become weak. We have allowed and enabled our government to grow to the point that the control us. We have allowed tech companies to use business and business law to help restrict our 1st Amendment rights. No American should be silenced, ever. We have allowed this, all of us. The pot is warming up to a boil as we sit in it. Lets not let it boil. Lets not let big business and politics take away our freedoms. Lets not be afraid to voice our thoughts and ideas and concerns. Many people before us have given everything without fear or remorse in order to speak the truth, in order to combat a wrong in order to make a right for everyone. That is the American way> Our people need courage, integrity and unity. Hope I didnt ruffle any feathers.

...and you're not silenced. You can walk around downtown asking people if they have a moment to learn about our savior, all you want. You can call or email your elected officials. You are free to write a book on any topic you wish.

You can't walk into Target with a shirt that reads **** YOU without being asked to leave. Their business, their rules. They are not stealing your freedom of speech. You can wear that while taking a hike in the woods or walking your dog all you want. Now, can then ask you to leave for wearing a Trump shirt? Sure, that's their call. They risk upsetting all Trump supports and risk losing business. That's their call. Wanting to be successful, they thus wouldn't make that call. However, some local biker bar could kick you out for a Biden shirt, not risk losing any business over it, and they are free to make that call. When you interact with a business, they can set rules. It's really that simple.

They can do it, as long as they get all their protections stripped away too.

I think you might be making the issue more simple then what it is. My reference was to speaking your views on a platform that reaches billions of people world wide. As we have seen the platform is used heavy by the world, it is used to influence people for elections etc... It has become a platform for speech. When a big tech company can influence an election by silencing one party or the other so they cannot be heard, our rights are being violated. Which is why there are calls to change these laws regarding big tech and freedom of speech. The board members of Facebook, Google, Parlor, Twitter, CNN, Fox News should not be allowed to use their business to influence an election. Im not sure how you feel about your parties values that you want to see voted in get silenced to an audience that is millions upon millions of people. These platforms need to be looked at. Unless we want them deciding our future as we sit silenced? Way of word isnt going door to door anymore. Communication has now evolved into a digital format. We can always agree to disagree on this. Im open to listen, but fair warning it will take alot to change my view on this

You are either a perfect sheep for the flock of your masters or your head is so far buried in your chocolate starfish that you could lick the entrance to your intestines.

With as reliant as we are today on social media and the internet they are squashing free speech. The last four jobs I have had I could not apply without the use of internet.

So a better analogy for what your masters are doing is this.

Joe Conservative wants to produce a newspaper. Joe Conservative has to go to buy paper, ink, printing presses, vehicles for distribution, and find places to sell his newspaper. Now, Overlord Slackjaw and his Slackjaw friends control paper, ink, vehicle sales, machines, and businesses where newspapers can be sold. Since Overlord Slackjaw doesn’t like the message of Joe Conservative he makes it so that Joe Conservative cannot but paper, ink, vehicles, machines, and is banned from selling his newspaper.

The giants that fought for control of the internet are now making certain only one side is heard. They are pushing the rounding up of certain voices.

****, I’d love to see them go through ballots and try and round up those that voted Republican. Please, come to my home. I hope you have good plates if you are wearing a vest.

I don't feel "one party" is being silenced. Does Fox News exist? OAN? Maybe the hundreds of lesser known heavily right leaning sites?

What they are silencing is threats of violence. There was a big push to go to parler 1-2 months ago. Maybe late October I think? Anyway, there were several FB groups created, focused on this move. I don't even remember the names, but I joined two, each with like 50K+ members adding several thousand each day. I legit saw posts of people asking "Who's ready to take back your freedom in November? There were replies of people's ARs with captions "I got my freedom get'er right here" There were questions like "how can we retake this country?" and replies of "if we all offed a couple democrats daily, it wouldn't take long." There was a reply of "that's what will get this group removed, stupid jokes like that" and dude replied with a pic of 3 guns on a table and asked "you think I'm joking?"

One admin posted that FB sent him like 83 warnings in 1 day about user content. He posted the screenshots. He asked users not to make threats. It's not like 1 gun pic and the group was deleted. It was like a week long of the admin getting warnings hourly about user posts, and then yes the group was deleted.

Sorry, that's not censoring conservatives.

you are wrong. there are literally names of people you cannot say on some of these sites without having your feed cut and video demonetized. users and channels have been getting nuked at an increasing rate while others are left to plan events which result in cities catching fire, literally.

again, you are wrong. this would be like you getting fired for saying something other people at your office say on the regular and them turning around to remark upon how they don't really feel like anyone was silenced because you could go find another place to work.

if you ban someone for what they say you are literally silencing them on your site.

google banned parler from their app store
they got apple to do the same
they got amazon to drop their hosting

this is literal persecution.

This is a photo being used by antifa and BLM groups on Facebook. It’s allowed, keeps popping up on Twitter as well. No one has yet to be banned.

And? FB probably has minimum wage workers who view report, or maybe even just bots. I admin some FB groups. I report TONS of fake accounts. I can report accounts where the URL of the account is something middle eastern like Mohammad Akzerts (I'm just making something up as an example). The name shown will be Sally Anders, and have direct porn links with "click here to see me cum" as the caption. The pics of "Sally" even say, "Sally changed HIS profile picture." I report these accounts as fake accounts and maybe half get removed. The others get the same message you got.

I found some 50 year dude who was friends with like 600 of these fake models. Come to notice, he has like 9 accounts all friends with each other, all with friends of fake porn models. All 9 of the profiles are a face pic of him. All have names about the same like Richard Lessons, Rick Lessons, R Lessons, Rick Lesson, Ricky Lessons, Rich L, Richy Less, etc. I reported them all. Zero were removed.
