Texas Speed is a legit shop... however we have some really bad ass places in Houston and there is also Thompson Motorsports. I’d love one of their motors.

I was thinking about doing a TS short block and then having rpm do their new Frankenstein h/c package because they’re sort of local to me

I have used them a lot, bought heads and camshafts and a lot of bolt-ons from them. My buddy Charlie has an old stroker from them in his 99 WS6, it’s been putting in work for years.

Build it right:

Fore Innovation duel pump fuel system

Build the motor

D1

Headers and exhaust

Tires and rims

Whatever else your tuner says is a good idea.

Thanks. Already have HCI headers full exhaust and wheels/tires.

Building the motor is fine but I want to keep it below 800whp whether it is built or not. If I can do it without I would be happy but it is not necessary.

you already have a pretty aggressive HCI combo, what’s it make? Are you on pump gas? You could squeeze a little more out with decking the heads some provided you have valve/piston clearance and running E85.

D1X will make over 1000rwhp and still uses the street series gear case. The F series take more HP to turn. The D1X is one of their newest blowers and is almost identical to the F1A in power output.

You can make 800rwhp on the stock shortblock but it will eventually let go if you beat on it often. I’d do Rods and pistons.

My car (C7 Grand Sport) is being picked up on 2/22 and sent to RPM. It’s getting a D1X, forged rods, forged pistons, custom cam/DOD delete, 2” American Racing headers, LT4 injectors, LT4 HPFP, RPM custom low side fuel system, Flex Fuel and probably some more I’m forgetting. Check out the below video for what they made with an LS7 and D1X.

Current set up pulled 580 on 93.

I am thinking of going e85 regardless. The smell of gas without cats is too much.

You will have a monster set up. Happy for you.

Thanks for tip on D1x, I am clueless on prochargers if you cannot tell.

Rods/pistons/sleeving advice noted.

Listen to him. Go with the smaller blower.

Call me a party pooper, but an F1A is a big, lazy ass blower at low boost/low RPM.. I wouldnt run it unless you are going full retard, track only, looking for 1200+ whp.

F1A on 5 psi mentioned above is about the dumbest shit ive read all day. Why would anyone do that lol??

Been kicking the same idea around for a while with my C6Z. Already a stage IV build from RPM and wanting more lol

D1X and a nice fuel system upgrade should be more than enough to satisfy your hunger, maybe.

Wow, that is just not alot of meat between those cylinders. Hell where the sleeves are siameesed its pretty thin. I also dont like the partially closed/open deck, thats a lot of top cylinder reinforcement thats not there.

Does the LSX have the same issues as the LS7?

If you need more power spray it . Stock LS7 motors take Nitrous so much better then boost . I know a local HCI LS7 with 150shot that run for 3 years no problem. The other HCI C6Z with boost lasted 5 months. Pretty expensive failure, whole motor went to shit including blower

Yeah I would be more than happy with this on the SS just done a complete mix match exhaust and am at 385 RWHP no other mods. The shop that had the dyno said it was really good for what little was done, over my 351 base number.

Stainless works header exhaust going into a modified Corsa muffler system. Downside now is I can not use My Link as it thinks I have the windows down and so buffeting ad keeps saying to make sure the windows are up before speaking.

I know a guy outside of Cleveland that slapped an LT 4 with 8 speed AT in his 2010 Z06 There is also that option.

LSX block is rated for over 2000hp. It will take anything you can throw at it. Keeping the heads down would be your only worry.
