That sounds like a nightmare. I'll probably order direct if I go that route. Just a place to test it. I saw Amazon too but apparently that makes warranty and exchange hard.

I think the mattresses they sell, have different model numbers so you can't cross reference them. I figured I would check out their store, get some model numbers, google a cheaper price and order it that way. Nope.

Just had a Purple Level 2.

I thought it was okay, my wife hated it.

Trade it back in for a Stearns and Foster Estate pillow top. Amazing bed that we both love. Hand made in Arizona.

I feel the bed in the box crap is all hype.
We have the same, great mattress.

Kingsdown. I've had a king size pillowtop for 15 years now and still feels like new. If I recall correctly, they have lifetime warranties on the springs as well.

Don't go to Mattress Firm. That's all I can say. I went through them at the start of the pandemic and it was comical how shitty their sales people are. Price kept dropping every 5 minutes as I refused to buy, even a "because I like you discount" and also a "I shouldn't do this and can get in trouble for it, but here's my employee pricing." discount. BUT those were only if I paid on the spot or at least a $50 deposit. I was going to buy something anyway, so fine, $50 down. I went home, google the model number and it's $250 cheaper ON THEIR WEBSITE! So I order it online, and the next day call to cancel the in person order and get my $50 back. They actually tried to make me feel bad about cancelling and claimed, "The website can change at any moment, we don't know what promotions they will have and now this cancelation looks bad on our store." It took them over 2 weeks to process my $50 refund. Frustrated at how shitty they are, I noted their "price match guarantee" on their site, if the price drops, they refund you the difference. I left my mattress open in a new tab and F5ed it from time to time. Sure enough, I caught some sale like 2-3 weeks later and it was now $275 cheaper. Ready for more of their BS, I took like 5-10 screen shots of the online banner showing the sale, the price, the price of it in my cart, etc. I called up corporate, was told I would need proof (I knew it), and I emailed all the screenshots. Sure enough they refunded me $275.

Hah! So I like the Purple, "Mattress Firm" not so much. Don't even want to get into it but wow. Granted I went in a hour before I closed.

Just to followed up got a Purple with adjustable base. I like it. Unfortunately had them leave it at the door since I was in a Zoom meeting. Heaviest ****ing mattress ever.

Good read here. I'm going to be in the market for a king mattress. Right now I'm sleeping on a queen hybrid that I paid about $850 for from Costco a couple years ago. Going to move that one to the guest room and upgrade. Thinking I want to spend a bit more to get a really nice memory foam or hybrid mattress. Purple and Puffy Lux defiantly have my attention.

Yeah I know kinda expensive cost of a nice roush supercharger or close to...I took this one on as an investment in always having a good nights sleep...took me a couple years to pay it off

Not balling on your level but kind of my logic. On a good day get 6 hours of use a day for 15-20 years. We all spend way more money on cars many of use drive for a couple hours a month. Its a quality of life investment.

Muslin case, clover filled, hemp ropes and lightly coat with flax seed oil so they don't creak. Change clover at each cutting, keep a couple of bales for winter.

I tried purple for 2 months and had to take advantage of their return policy. Hated how I could feel all the little square pockets as they collapsed. Like you had to break through a crust.

In the past 15 years, we have owned a couple Sleep Number and one Tempur Pedic.

The Sleep Number was the most comfortable, as I could adjust the firmness as needed. However, it was a hot bed and the soft-sides blew out after a few years. It does not impact the comfort, but it looked funny.

The Tempur Pedic was much cooler, held its shape a lot better over time and took 6-7 years before the mattress just stopped supporting me properly. However, I use heating pads and heated sheets, which does shorten the life of the mattress.

I was going to buy another Tempur Pedic, getting the Breeze... but my wife is wanting to try a Purple 3 instead. Also, heating pads and heated sheets don't cause issues with the Purple, so we are about to go that route. Seemed great in-store and the store offers 120 night in-home trial. So, we'll see what happens.

So, just to summarize, in my opinion, Tempur Pedic Breeze is top, Purple is second (may change in a few months) and Sleep Number would be my 3rd choice.

I know everyone's experiences will differ, but Matress Firm was very good to me. I bought a mattress and after 4-5 weeks, I just did not like it. Mattress Firm offered a refund, but asked if I was willing to try another mattress first (and also restart the 100 day trial). With nothing to lose, I agreed to try another mattress. Mattress Firm picked up the old mattress and delivered the new one the same day--completely hassle free. I thought there would be a bunch of run-around, but nope--very simple, very easy.

I ended up with a Tempur Pedic Luxe Adapt. The mattress has been great. Of all the memory foam mattresses we tried, only tempur pedic felt like memory foam. The others just felt like regular foam--hard to explain, but they just didn't mold to your body like tempur pedic. It's a love or hate, so they are definitely not for everyone.

That said, we also have a run of the mill conventional mattress that I often sleep on. I sleep well on that mattress and it cost A LOT less than teh tempur pedic.

Finally, most importantly: make sure you shop somewhere that has, and stands behind, a trial period. All of the mattresses felt great in the store. It's a whole different story while laying on the mattress for hours and trying to sleep!
