Title pretty much says it all but...
I have an old transformer powered 175W mercury vapor lamp that has died and most of the replacements I find are LED. Can anyone recommend a replacement that will throw as much light over the same area as my old lamp? Links are appreciated.

Does it illuminate the same amount of space as the old lamp did?
By the charts I'm seeing, that won't be as bright as your mercury vapor. You'll need at least 54w LED.

Are you trying to do just a bulb swap or the entire housing? You'll likely have a longer living LED if you get a housing designed for the LED so it doesn't overheat. The corncob style ones are pretty bulky and they don't always fit.

What are you trying to light up? I’ve retrofitted a ton of parking lot lighting and wallpacks and can probably help you out.

I'm going to replace the entire fixture. I'm trying to determine 2 things: 1)equivalent brightness, 2)how much area does it light up.

I have the current light about 20' up on a pole and am using it as a security light for my barn and the surrounding area. I'm hoping to find an LED fixture that will cover the same amount of area and be as bright as the old light.

A 175w Mercury should be around 7500 lumen, by the charts, that's like 53.X LED wattage.

You could easily go brighter on that too.

If you can, I would try to find something with a diffused cover, the diodes are bright as hell. If you accidentally look at them it's painful.

I can't help on the area question because I don't know how much area you need to light. Is it like a very wide area? Like 270 degrees?
