But that's pretty much exactly what the government did when the pandemic hit. Here in Vegas they forced casinos to close, cancelled conventions, closed restaurants and bars, schools, churches and health clubs. The government decided which places could remain open with business as usual.

I understand your point, but the two situations are fundamentally different. The governmental actions you describe, whether you agree with them or not, the Trump administration took in response to a worldwide health crisis that they felt constituted an emergency. The governmental actions suggested by the meme are bald face governmental control and planning of the economy intended to render certain businesses winners at the expense of other businesses.

I agree with you. I will say this, though: The closings here in Nevada were done by order of The Governor(a Democrat), not the Trump Administration. Many here were upset that their businesses were singled out but not others. They were also upset that the smaller ones allowed to stay open had to follow max capacity percentages set by the State(25-50%) but the big boys did not. The meme, to me, seems to be more a comment on fairness/equity than an actual economic plan.
