On to motorsports, all the big ones already have a relationship with the EPA, and they have their "Green" initiatives which keep things kosher. I can see it getting worse, and where say NASCAR, or IndyCar or IMSA or whoever, have to pay a large tax to operate with noncompliant vehicles. But they can afford it, to an extent. Things are naturally progressing to more hybrid anyhow with manufacturers not wanting to support racing that is only ICE, as their overall platform is shifting away. This would happen even without EPA involvement. Although it's the EPA forcing the manufacturers to go all electric, it's then forcing racing to go more hybrid and eventually maybe all electric, if even possible... Obviously Top Fuel can't, so maybe they pay a shit ton of fees or something to continue on, idk. Or they're forced to shut down. Then maybe enough people raise hell that it's like the one exception, I can't say for sure.

Now, grassroots stuff, local drag strips, NMRA events, tractor pulls, hobbyists even driving "offroad", that is all the biggest issue I would say. Because you have big enough congregations of people, thousands most the time, that it grabs the attention of the government. A single guy running catless isn't worth their time necessarily, but 500 cars at a dragstrip will likely make them show up eventually... If they start testing shit on the spot, drag racing at the grassroots level could nearly die. The only solution to this I can see is, the EPA offers for the track owners to pay a "tax" or fee to operate, or someone is going to need to figure out how to manufacturer some Catalytic converters that can handle up to 2000HP... Which should be possible, but I don't think it's been done. It may be the only choice eventually though. Along with maintaining the other emissions the car came with. Might be many 6-7 second cars all of a sudden running 8s after these changes if mandated.

Are the above necessarily "solutions"?? Partly, but I could see how some would say they aren't. I see them more as likely scenarios that we in general have no control over, workarounds, and just general possibilities. If the EPA has a 3 year initiative or something, where they go hard and do all the damage they can, then back off even a bit, it could allow the hobby to survive. Their idea is they stop the products being made/sold and eventually the issue goes away on its own... But we all know there's enough parts already in circulation that we are damn near set. Along with small time guys making stuff "off the books". A lot of this is wait and see what happens... Then respond appropriately.
