How much do those run?
The machine I got was pretty expensive, but there are cheaper option depending on what you want to do with it. I know the K40 is a less expensive option that I hear people talk about in my facebook groups, but I don't know much about it. Mine is a Boss 1630 65 watt.

Mine is a C02 laser which will not engrave into metal, for that you would need a fiber laser which are really cool to watch because of how fast they are. I have a friend that wants to do a set of iron sights and a barrel guard, but I'm not sure I can get through the coating used on them.
I can cut and engrave wood, acrylics and engrave the powder coating on cups and glassware.

nice! I can't tell quite from the vid, but I'm guessing you're using Cermark or dry moly lube being a C02 laser.

Not on this one. That cup is powder coated black so it just burns it off. I need to get some Cermark and try it out.
nice, couldn't quite tell if there was powder coat on it in the vid. Cermark works great but its $$$. Dry moly lube gives you about 85-90% of the quality of Cermak but is waaay cheaper.

I'll have to try that.

This is what the cup looked like finished. This is an older one, the new ones are a little different.

That and 3D printing are really cool. Engraving is probably easier to learn that 3D printing. You've probably done some cool and unusual engraving.

My machine came with Lightburn software which was pretty easy to learn. I've done a lot of water bottles especially during christmas, but now I'm starting to get into wedding signs and glassware.
