Liquid asphalt is not your friend at 450* when loading it in a tanker first thing in the morning. I hauled that stuff for years.
Poured about a quart of molten Type III in my palm when I was 21 and too stupid to wear gloves while filling cracks. The blister was the size of my entire palm and about 1" thick bubble. All still stuck with asphalt as you couldn't clean it all off. Not Fun !

I've never spilled liquid metal on my skin, but I did set my entire hand on fire in the AF dorms performing some cool stunts with a lighter and bottle of rubbing alcohol. lol

Reminds me of my days at the shingle mill. They used several open top tanks. Barely missed getting covered one day when I was walking by a tank and it started burping. I got to cover just in time.
