Has it always been that crazy or is it a recent thing since housing went through the proverbial roof?
Lumber prices have gone through the roof since the pandemic started. A result of lower production and higher demand with people sinking money into their houses (renos, new builds, etc), instead of spending on vacations.
Inflation isn't helping either.
Coronavirus shut the mills down for a while in early 2020. Osb 4x8 sheets went from $13 a piece to $50. My company was bidding a job on the sheetrock side but the job was put on hold because the lumber price jumped $70,000. Its f'ing ridiculous
