Guys, I have been thinking of all the EPA vs the car industry stuff. The possibilities if we don't get something done and I think I have an idea.

We all know that essentially the EPA is out to extort companies. It really does not give a **** about the environment. It, if you dive in and look at how it operates, is about extorting money.

So what if we draft something and get it sponsored to present to the government and the EPA.

My idea is drafting a bill that states that to keep the car culture, the industry, the hobby, and grassroots racing, we impose a "tax" on ourselves. Say, $250-500/yr payable at time of registration for us that mod our car. Let us say $250-500 if you go through emissions and pass with a sniffer instead of OBDII, proving that you can pass emissions.

This would allow tuning, stand alones, etc... You just have to swap on a catted pipe once a year.

If you wanted to turn a VIN'd vehicle into a dedicated track car with no road use, then say a one time $1k fee.

I know we hate taxes, I know that we agree this is getting ****ing stupid but what are our options? It is not like the politicians give a real **** about us. It is not like the EPA cares how many businesses they close down. It is not like people are going to straight kill agents when they show up at these businesses.

Thoughts? THOTS? Thawts?

I am sure they would want vehicles tested under SET(or SFTP) and FTP cycles not a sniffer. I don't think OEMs would be supportive of this and would probably fight that as they spend millions to certify vehicles for the EPA, even down to tire configurations.

He reports TO the EPA...he doesn't report the EPA haha

Lmfao I was like wtf..

Yeah I do federal emissions testing. I have to deal with shitty ass federal regulations that are almost not achievable.. because the EPA wants “ clean oilfield energy “

An additional proposal could be for all of the dbags that vote for the progressive party that align with this thinking be banished and/or ridiculed whenever possible. F them. They r certainly part of the problem and are vast in numbers.

I like your idea @Deceptive but I shouldnt have to pay A SINGLE PENNY if I want to prep my car for the drag strip or track, tow it to the strip and run the beans out of it, tow it home and reinstall everything for legal highway use.

The fact that they are attacking tuners and race part suppliers is indicative of how they plan on "imposing" their "clean air" policies.

**** them and their gross overreach into my personal affairs.

I agree but what do you suggest?

Do you think your Reps give a **** about what you want to do with your private property?

Do you think they care about the people they are putting out of work?

Joe Biden has sniffed here.

Oh I know that these "elected officials" in Washington dont give a rats ass about anyone but themselves and the people who donate to their campaigns, and make backroom deals off insider information.

I want to be clear Im not bashing you, and I understand where your proposals come from. But make no mistake, that is the slippery slope of appeasement. Even if they agree to anything, its only a matter of time before they would find ways to exploit the agreement/"law" and shut us down.

They are literal tree hugger fanatics, and most are trying to create for themselves "outstanding" career resume's so they can further themselves up the ladder.

If they put millions of people industry wide out of work and leave us gearheads sobbing with silent machines they dont give a solitary ****. If the wonton debt spending spree in Washington is any indicator, the millions generated in tax revenue from our industries is PEANUTS.

Litigation may be our only recourse, and I can admit to you and everyone here my knowledge of environmental law is exceptionally lacking.

If you give them a fee that we will pay then they will take that fee and raise it year after year until most of us are taxed out of the fun. It would have to be a low fee of like $100 so that everyone can be involved and it should also be capped which would never happen because the government doesn't cap anything in regards to taxes. It's not a terrible idea, but I just think it would be taken advantage of because that is their nature.

I promise I did not take your comment as bashing. I am just at the point where I know we need to fight as the rat ****s want to take everything from us. I hate the fact I ever was willing to die for this country. Damn I wish this country would split in two. I hate everything it has become. I hate that I feel like I am going to be pushed to where I have to choose between submitting and growing old with my family or taking a stand for what I believe in and ending up dead or in jail for life.

So if I pay $1,000, can I put a bigger Energizer in my Prius now ???

Seriously, let's start with private jets, yatchs, too many A/C units on your 20,000 sq/ft mansion, and capping volcanoes and cow's asses.

Last on my list would be car guys...

The problem with thinking that you can deal with the EPA is that the EPA isn't going to deal. They are the true believers, the religious fanatics. Their religion is Gia, the goddess of the Earth and they will not back down. Better luck would be getting Islamic terrorists to stop.

Maybe Mad Max wasn't a work of fiction. Perhaps it is a true glimpse of the future.
