The automakers thought the covid downturn would be much more severe and long lasting on auto sales and canceled or didn't order chips needed for their production. Consumer electronics exploded with the lockdowns and their orders filled that production void and then some. Car makers tried to place orders with recovery into a fully booked chip manufacturer schedule.

My purchase strategy gets updated every 60 days, but I just update the saved strategy rather than starting 100% fresh every time.
It's crazy how few trucks pull up on AutoTrader compared to just a few months ago.
On this day last year, I had 237 vehicles on my lot. 151 new, and 86 used.
Today, I have 44 new and 27 used.
Our sales haven't dropped at all, to this point. They will within the next 30-60 days as inventory gets more scarce.
That’s crazy. My wife bought a used 2015 Mustang last June before prices really spiked. I remember taking to the sales guy saying your used lot is starting to look slim. He said yes especially with trucks we have used trucks parked sideways to make the lot look full. He told me they were finally getting the new vehicle lot stocked again that was bare at the time.
I’ve seen a handful of new 21 F150’s on the road they look sharp. I saw one new Bronco Sport yesterday. Is it true Ford is letting dealers sell demonstrators of that vehicle now do to supply and demand?

It really makes it tempting to unload my ram right now, 19 Laramie pretty loaded with 58k miles. I’m sure there isn’t a better time for return value but I have no idea what else I’d like to drive currently lol
