What Are You Guys Using to Remove Water Spots?

I put together a short vid on what I've found that works pretty good on the cheap. Your mileage may vary; so I don't know if it will work for you, but I had a ton of this stuff laying around and it seem to do the trick for me.

I usually use white vinegar.

That is good to know! Out here in Monterey CA the water is really hard so the minerals paired with the intense CA sun create some very stubborn water spots very quickly (can't wait to get out of this state...lol). For me I have some different steps I take pending how stubborn the water spots are.

-Light/Fresh Water Spots: Gtechniq Quick Detailer. You can use this on a ceramic or non ceramic treated vehicles. I use this after drying my cars as it does a great job of removing fresh/light water spots while adding gloss and slickness to the paint.

-Light- Medium Water Spots: This is a very versatile product that I have been recently testing on my more stubborn water spots with positive results in small. Specifically I am using their premixed 32oz ready to go bottle (non ceramic, if ceramic treated by non pre-diluted at 10:1). Another choice would be CarPro Spotless, Shine Supply Spot Rinse or Gtechniq W9 on light to medium water spots, but these products/ones like it aren't "quick" fixes if you look at the directions, which is one reason why I have been testing Solution more.

-Heavy Water Spots: using polishes/compounds is always a last resort for seriously etched water spots. Gtechniq P1 (with the correct pad by hand or buffer) or M105 followed up M205/protectant of some sort will do the trick on even the most stubborn of water spots.

If you plan to put any sort of elbow grease consider what is on your body work already that may need to be addressed before going after the water spot(s). You may need to do a waterless, rinseless or full wash before addressing.

Steel wool does the trick every time

Turtle wax- Wax as you dry. Cheap and does the job
