lol. Yep.. just like OP.

The rods on this motor and the condor are a joke in factory form. Ford knew it too, which is why the dash doesnt allow 7000rpm "red line" until the car is fully warmed up.

Because of these shitty rods, the bottom end is weak and to add insult to injury, the motor is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced. OP, you just made a $20k+ mistake im afraid.

Smart way to be a high power 07-14 gt500 owner is to replace rods immediately. Factory pistons are forged and very strong... leave them alone. Spend a thousand bucks on quality rods, pull motor, install them enjoy 7500+ rpm shifts and done.

Dont chance it.
I hear ya,mine is in the shop now getting pistons, rods, and JDM engineering super stock cams,so i can try them 7500+ RPM shifts.

You might have gotten lucky and lifted the heads. I've heard of that happening with our cars at that power level.

trinity car with 17k miles with 860RWHP tuned by Lund on E85! I've done over 200+ pulls shifting @ 6750. yes i know i was at my limits with stock rods but i did a 2nd gear pull today barley in it enough to haze the tires and traction control came on ( i turned it off before the pull ) the car fell on its face and a poof of white smoke and oil everywhere. anyhow my question is could of traction control coming on cause this?

my vagina has sand in it when it's that deep into the motor. I rebuilt my 302 pushrod back in high school shop class. Never messed with a DOHC.

lol touche

The mod motors are certainly more involved, but not that big of a deal anymore. Some good literature out there to help along with way!

well the horse power Gods hopefully stay on my side and nothing bad happens i guess ! always good to know there is good literature out there for this stuff. My buddy built up his terminator motor but seems he's always having something wrong with it as he gets it back together. lol

The sweet spot is 750whp in my opinion and 6500rpm or less.

My 07 was a BLAST at ~650whp. Hit as hard as Mike Tyson, ran on pump gas, and would have probably lived forever at that power level.

But like everything.. i wanted more...............
THE NEEEEED FOR SPEEEEEEED LOL. I'm making my limit around 700 at the wheels ( hope for bragging and car shows lol)

I do enjoy the torque in the 13 gt500. reminds me of my terminator. but i feel out cars can really use gears.

You'll probably need to do a little machine work on the crank. A bunch of while you're in there things like clutch, bearings, timing components.
Otherwise you could probably just pull the heads and change the rods in the car if you're feeling lucky. I remember helping my dad do that with an Olds.

wouldn't pulling the motor and replacing the rods still cost a arm and a leg as someone suggested?

And if you need to pull the engine, you really can pull enough off the front of the car to just put it on jack stands and slide the engine/Trans out underneath.
Just get a maximum motorsports strut tower bar and lower everything with straps.

This would be the best bet to do if i had the time and patience. oil gears too. I just would rather bring it to someone to do the work that i trust but i bet it would cost close to 10k for the work.

Good stuff and comedy too in here.
3.73s are for the sissies, 4.10 only, go big or go home :)
Seriously tho, run a tall 315/35/20 DR and 4.10s at 750rwhp on good fuel and shift at 6500rpm (on the slow stock tach you’ll complete that shift around 7000rpm if you can drive).
Even a completely stock car with a pump 93 tune, DRs, and 4.10s will run 10s.
Once you get greedy and cash your stimulus checks you’ll....
upgrade the rods and cams, put it on E85, get sick of gear whine and go Strange 9” with 4.11s, get sick of the remote shifter and go Magnum XL, get sick of a small blower restriction and go big daddy TVS Gen3R, and then learn all the nickel and dime parts required to finally make over 1100rwhp and run deep 9s at a full weight 4000#!
At least that’s what my wife said I was muttering in a recent nightmare :)
I really do love this car, LAST OF A BREED!
