If this sees the light of day, every bit of power used to recharge these EVs better come form zero emissions sources too. Good luck with that! I work with a guy who owns a Tesla Model S and he has "Zero Emissions" on his front license plate cover. I asked him before where the power to recharge it comes from...blank stare.

In places like LA, where the majority of people park on the street. Many times, not close to their residence. How is all this recharging going to work? We haven't thought of that yet...
I agree 100%. I hope you schooled him a bit on where the power comes from.

This won't be an issue with technology like vehicle-to-grid charging, which will be offered on VW EVs.

So President Trump is out of office. OP ran out of news on that front, was constantly stirring that pot.
So just like the MSM left, finds a new target to stir up some more. So predictable.
So next thread will be about systemic racism? GTFO!
I thought you got banned awhile back from these type threads.. Or was it just publicly humiliated.

This sucks.. and like anything else.. there is NO going back.

We are gonna need to start building nuclear plants all over.
I would be far more worried about getting reactors and infrastructure built out than forcing the endgame.
Building nuke reactors won't mean shit if we don't have enough rare earth metals to manufacture batteries for all the consumers. This is just a ploy to further ensure people rely on the state by forcing them(the middle class) to cucked "ride sharing" programs and public transportation.

Hence China buying Africa...

Hydro power is clean.

Hydro has massive environmental impacts on local ecosystems. It is not "clean".

C02 is not and should not be an only concern.

A diverse energy grid is needed. Currently oil and gas are over relied upon. Renewables are under relied upon. There needs to be more balance there and it is happening....slowly.

EV vehicles are part of that as well, but only EVs will have its own challenges, including environmental impacts. Diversifying propulsion is how you solve energy and environmental issues, not going all in on one "solution".

Governments will use these initiatives to increase % of EVs and renewables, but long term they are no silver bullet. They come with their own issues.

When they can get a cell phone battery to last a whole day longer than six months I'll believe this is feasible. Maybe technology will be there but I guess we'll see every new car requiring some sort of hybrid element. I think we are a long way from an all electric fleet. I'm a middle aged guy and doubt it will happen in my lifetime.

no matter how hard they try they’ll never be able to completely phase out gas/diesel vehicles
Yeah, you keep naively believing that. This country is sliding downhill fast, and things that most of us said would never happened HAVE happened and continue to happen. Hell, the Green Deal a few short years ago was something we scoffed and laughed it. AOC's pipe dream was ridiculed. And yet it has now been accepted as our future and a necessity. It sucks, but the death of the ICE is definitely going to become a reality. JMO.

Rory Gamble, the president of the United Auto Workers union, has expressed caution about the shift to EVs, noting it takes fewer workers to build EVs than gas-powered vehicles and said "workers will disproportionately suffer if we do not get it right."

He said last month the government must ensure the transition to EVs “is stable, reliable and creates quality union wage jobs and flexible to market demand not relying on a one-size fits all solution.”

Most asinine statement. This is why I don't like Unions.

Translation: EV's are more efficient/less complicated to assemble, so therefore we must make them more complicated so more people can be justified to ride the union gravy train

Yea probably true. Gas vehicles will never disappear and they’ll never be replaced by electric

Phone companies do that shit on purpose. But still, the battery technology isn't there yet IMO. Or the raw materials. Or finding a way to mine for them safely. Or dispose of them safely. Or a power grid to sustain them along with everything else.

That's why I feel like there intent isn't to get you to replace your ICE vehicle with a EV. Its to get rid of your ICE vehicle and use other source of transportation whether its ride sharing, public transportation etc. Limiting mobility is a form of ultimate control. Someone can pick and choose when you can leave.

I will never comply. I will always do the opposite.

Oh and I don’t recycle. I throw everything in the trash.

LMAO.

Being 100% honest, I'm at the point that anything the left supports I will do the opposite.

Whats ironic is that for many recycling centers around the US, a lot of shit was sent on to china for final "processing". When that was interrupted by their virus, the places here sent them to the landfill.

I think that aluminum is the only guaranteed recyclable to be processed. Glass usually isn't, paper must be clean or its tossed. Anything contaminated with petroleum is tossed.

Those blue recycle containers are really nothing more than things to make people feel like they are making a difference. The reality is they barely are.
